The most of the walnut trees are produced by using seeds in this province. That's why, there is a great genetic walnut material potential there. This study was carried out aiming to determine different productive, low chill walnut genotypes with high quality. During the studies, seventy-one different productive promising walnut genotypes were marked. Some pomological, phenological and morphological characteristics of selected genotypes were determined by using The Descriptors for Walnut of IPGRI (Anonymous, 1994). All collected data were evaluated by using the Weighted Rankit Method. The genotypes with over 800 weighted rankit points, 31 CE 32, 31 CE 67, 31 CE 33, 31 CE 61, 31 CE 22, 31 CE 29, 31 CE 31 and 31 CE 34 were found to be promising types and selected. The genotypes such as 31 CE 32, 31 CE 29, 31 CE 31 and 31 CE 26 which, were selected from the subtropical areas of province and set fruit very well, were also found to be promising for warm areas but some further adaptation studies are needed to reach the conclusion.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccesswalnutJuglans regia L.breedingselectionSelection of walnut genotypes in Hatay province of TurkeyConference Object54410911310.17660/ActaHortic.2001.544.132-s2.0-33846632948Q4WOS:000168150900013N/A
