Haldun Taner'in ''Şeytan Tüyü'' adlı hikayesi ve mektup tarzı

Abstract

Haldun Taner, “Şeytan Tüyü” hikâyesinde Almanya’ya işçi olarak giden Türk gurbetçilerin hayatlarından bir kesit ele almıştır. Hikâye, Almanya’ya daha önce giden ve hayat tecrübesi daha fazla olan Ökkeş Topalmusagil’in amcaoğlu Hidayet Ağa’ya yazdığı mektuptan oluşmaktadır. Ökkeş Topalmusagil, Alman vatandaşların yabancı işçilere kötü davranıp insan yerine koymamasına karşılık ayı postu giyerek geçimini sağlayan ve insanlarla iyi anlaşan bir tiptir. Mektubunda, Almanya’daki zor yaşam şartlarından bunalmış amcaoğlu Hidayet Ağa’ya tecrübelerini aktarır ve Almanya’da hayata ayak uydurup geçimini sağlayan insan tiplerinden örnekler verir. Hikâyede, Ökkeş Topalmusagil’in gözlemlerinden yola çıkılarak işçi sorununun yanında Alman ve Türk kültürü arasındaki farklılıklara ironi ve mizah unsurlarının önplana çıktığı bir anlatımla değinilmiştir. Bu çalışmamızda, hikâyedeki ironi ve mizah unsurları, iki kültür arasındaki farklılıklar, mektup tarzı, mekân, zaman, dil ve anlatıcı üzerinde durulmuştur.

In the story “Şeytan Tüyü”, Haldun Taner handled a part of the lives of expatriates who went Germany as workers. Story is formed from the Ökkeş Topalmusagil’s letter to his cousin Hidayet Ağa who has gone to Germany before and had more experience . Despite the fact that German citizens abused foreign workers, Ökkeş Topalmusagil gets along with people and earns his life by wearing bear costume. In his letter,he tells his experiences to his cousin Hasan Ağa who gets bored of life conditions in Germany,and gives examples from the lives of people who survives and earn their lives in Germany.In the story the writer told the differences between the cultures and the worker’s problems considering from the Ökkeş Topalmusagil’s observations by emphasising an ironic and humorous expression. In this study we focused on Haldun Taner’s letter type, ironic and humorous expressions in the story, differences between the cultures, time, place and the story teller.
