Analyzing the attitudes of vocational school students' computer aided education based on different variables

Abstract

Çalışmada Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin Bilgisayar Destekli Eğitim'e ilişkin tutumlarını belirlemek ve bu tutumların cinsiyet, yaş, günlük ortalama bilgisayar kullanım süresi ve bölüm değişkenlerine göre değişiklik gösterip göstermediği araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla Kırıkhan Meslek Yüksekokulunda 2014-2015 öğretim yılında 5 farklı programda öğrenim gören 196 öğrenciye Bilgisayar Destekli Eğitim yapmaya ilişkin tutum ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 16.0 yazılımı aracılığı ile analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde Betimsel Analiz, cinsiyet ve yaş faktörleri için Mann Whitney U testi, günlük ortalama bilgisayar kullanım süresi ve cinsiyet faktörleri için ise Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan testlerin tercihinde verilerin normal dağılımları dikkate alınmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular Meslek Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinin Bilgisayar Destekli Eğitim'e ilişkin tutumlarının cinsiyet, yaş ve program faktörlerine bağlı olarak değişmediğini, günlük ortalama bilgisayar kullanım süresi faktörüne bağlı olarak ise değiştiğini göstermektedir.

In this study, the attitudes of Vocational School students towards Computer Based Education, and whether those attitudes show any changes upon gender, age, daily computer usage time, along with department based variables were analyzed. In this respect, Computer Aided Education attitude scalewas used with 196 students from 5 different departments in 2014-2015 academic year. The data were analyzed via SPSS 16.0 software. Mann Whitney U test was employed for gender and age variables.One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) for daily average computer usage time and gender factors was also performed. In the preferences of those tests, the normal distributions of data were focused. The obtained results show that the attitudes of Vocational School students do not differbased on gender, age and department factors. On the other hand, they differ based upon the daily average computer usage time factor
