Myrtus communis L. türünün farklı kullanım alanları açısından değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Çalışma ile Akdeniz Bölgesi'nin doğal bitki örtüsü içerisindeki önemli türlerden biri olan Myrtus communis L.'in farklı kullanım alanları belirlenmiştir. Bu amaçla konu ile ilgili bilgiler derlenmiş; tür, kullanım alanları açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda öncelikle türün peyzaj değeri ortaya konulmuştur. M. communis estetik ve fonksiyonel nitelikleri, özellikle kuraklığa dayanıklılık nedeniyle peyzaj mimarlığı çalışmalarında çokça tercih edilmektedir. Kirli toprakların temizlenmesi amacıyla kullanılabilecek bir tür olması nedeniyle de peyzaj onarımında bitki ile ıslah teknolojisi kapsamında kullanılmaktadır. Tıbbi-aromatik türler arasında olup; yaprak, çiçek ve meyvesi tıpta, ilaç ve kozmetik sanayinde değerlidir. Böcek öldürücü ilaç yapımında etkili olduğu bilinmektedir. Tıp alanında çeşitli hastalıkların tedavisi ile birlikte geleneksel olarak ilaç yapımında çok eski dönemlerden bu yana kullanım alanı bulmuştur. Geleneksel kullanımda yaprak, çiçek, meyve ve genç sürgünler ön plandadır. Diğer bir kullanımı gıda endüstrisinde aroma sağlama, likör, marmelat ve reçel yapımı ile diyet takviye gıdası şeklinde görülmektedir. Meyvelerdeki keskin koku nedeniyle baharat olarak eskiden beri kullanımı söz konusudur. Tüm bu kullanımları dışında hayvan yemi ve kesme yeşillik olarak da değerlendirilmektedir. Ancak, doğadan aşırı hasat edilmesi durumunda türün zarar görmesi mümkün olmaktadır. Yaban yaşamına katkısı nedeniyle habitat değeri oldukça yüksek olan bu türün korunması da büyük önem taşımaktadır

EVALUATION OF DIFFERENT USES OF Myrtus communis L. With this study, it was identified that different usage areas of Myrtus communis L. that is one of the important species native in the Mediterranean Region. For this purpose, all information on the subject has been compiled for this purpose, and evaluated for their usage. In this context, it has been demonstrated primarily landscape value of the species. M. communis (myrtle) is preferred at landscape architecture works due to their aesthetic and functional qualities; especially with drought resistance. Because this species can be used to clean up contaminated soil, myrtle is used for landscape restoration with the scope of phytoremediation technology. The medicinal–aromatic species; leaves, flowers and fruits are valuable in medicine, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. It’s known to be effective in manufacturing insecticides. It has traditionally found use in making drugs with the treatment of various diseases in the medical field since ancient times. Leaves, flowers, fruits and young shoots of this plant are in the foreground at traditional use. Another use has seen at food industry to provide aroma, preparing liqueur, marmalade and jam; with dietary food supplements. Due to the smell of the fruits, it has used since a long time. In addition to all of these uses it’s also considered as animal feed and cut flower. However, with the excess harvest from the nature, it’s possible to plants will be damaged. For the contribution to wildlife, protection of this species which has high habitat value is important
