Öğe Agronomic and quality characteristics of some virginia type peanut genotypes (Arachis hypogaea I. subs, hypogaea van hypogaea) and effects of these characters on yield formation as an alternate crop in hatay district(TUBITAK, 2000) Çalişkan, Mehmet Emin; Mert, Mehmet; Işler, Necmi; Calişkan, SevgiAgronomic and quality characteristics of 16 Virginia type groundnut cvs. and, direct and indirect effects of these characters on yield formation as an alternate crop were investigated in Hatay district in 1995 and 1996. The genotypes differed significantly in respect to all investigated characters, and it was concluded that the peanut could be an important alternate crop for Hatay district based on the results of pod yield, which ranged between 211.9 and 311.3 kg/da. Correlation and path coefficient analysis also revealed that the number of pods per plant, pod yield per plant and kernel/pod ratio correlated significantly with pod yield per decare, and pod yield per plant and kernel/pod ratio characteristics in particular had the highest positive direct effects on pod yield per decare under regional conditions.Öğe The correlation and path coefficient analysis for yield and some yield components of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) in Southeastern Anatolia ecological conditions(TUBITAK, 1998) Işler, Necmi; Çalişkan, Mehmet EminThe correlations among seed yield per decar and plant height, first pod height, branch number, seed yield per plant, 100-seed weight and harvest index, and direct and indirect effects of these characters on seed yield were investigated in soybean with 14 cvs. in 1993 and 10 cvs. in 1994 in Southern Anatolian Region. As a result, seed yield per plant, first pod height, branch number and plant height were the most efficient characters on seed yield per decar and it was concluded that these characters could be considered as significant selection criterias in soybean breeding for yield under regional conditions.Öğe The effects of sowing date and row spacing on yield and quality of some sugarbeet (Beta vulgaris L.) varieties in Hatay ecological conditions(TUBITAK, 1999) Çalişkan, Mehmet Emin; Işler, Necmi; Günel, Erol; Güler, Mutlu BuketThe effects of different sowing dates (1st February and 1st March) and row spacings (30, 45 and 60 cm) on yield and quality characteristics of four sugarbeet cvs. (Evita, Sonja, Fiona and Anadolumono) were studied in Hatay ecological conditions in 1996 and 1997. Delayed sowings affected negatively all the yield and quality characteristics, and due to one month delaying of sowing root and sucrose yield decreased 8.06 % and 8.64% in 1996, and 37.7% and 40.4% in 1997, respectively. The highest root and sucrose yields obtained from 45 cm row spacing in 1996 (47.77 and 8.14 t/ha, resp.) and from 30 cm row spacing in 1997 (73.00 and 12.21 t/ha, resp.). While the highest root yield obtained from Fiona in 1996 (49.71) and from Anadolumono in 1997 (61.57 t/ha); the highest sucrose yield obtained from Fiona in 1996 (8.48 t/ha), from Evita in 1997 (10.22 t/ha), the root and sucrose yield differences of cvs were found statistically significant only in 1996.
