    Age and Growth of the Bluemouth Rockfish, Helicolenus dactylopterus (Delaroche 1809) from the North-Eastern Mediterranean Sea, Turkey

    In the recent study,. age, growth and length-weight relations-hip of Helicolenus dactylopterus (Delaroche, 1809) were investigated. A total of 525 specimens were collected from bottom-trawl research surveys and commercial trawl fishery along the southern continental slope of the Iskenderun Bay between June 2012 and May 2014. Age was determined by reading whole sagittal otoliths. Fish ranged froth 9.3 to 20.9 cm in total length, which corresponded to fish between 1 to 8 years old. Growth parameters were estimated using the standard Von Bertalanffy growth model (k=0.064, L infinity=35.419 cm and to =-4.797 for combined sexes). Length-weight relationships were estimated for females (W=0.0385L(2) (6645)) and males (W=0.0345L(2 7089)). The low level of maximum length registered in this study could be related to high pressure level of trawl fishery during the last two decades in Iskenderun Bay.

    İskenderun Körfezi'nde bulunan kaya zamburu Helicolenus dactylopterus (Delaroche, 1809)'un bazı biyolojik özellikleri

    Bu çalışmada, Kasım 2011-Ekim 2012 tarihleri arasında, İskenderun Körfezi'nde dağılım gösteren 525 adet kaya zamburu Helicolenus dactylopterus (Delaroche, 1809)'a ait boy, ağırlık, yaş ve büyüme özellikleri incelenmiştir. İncelenen örneklerin 238 (% 45,33) adedi dişi, 287 (% 54,67) adedi ise erkek bireylerden oluşmuştur. Dişi ve erkek bireylerde minimum ve maksimum toplam boy değerleri sırasıyla 9,30-19,30 cm ve 9,70-20,90 cm, yine dişi ve erkek bireylerde minimum ve maksimum ağırlık değerlerinin sırasıyla 12,50-136,90 g ve 12,50-152,80 g olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dişi ve erkek bireyler için hesaplanan boy-ağırlık ilişkisi denklemleri sırasıyla W=0,0385xL2,6645 ve W=0,0345xL2,7089 olarak bulunmuştur. Otolitten yaş okumaları sonucunda, dişi ve erkek bireyler için minimum 1 ve maksimum 8 yaş grubu belirlenmiştir. Von Bertalanffy boyca büyüme eşitlikleri dişi bireyler için; L∞=35,648 cm, K=0,058 yıl-1, t0=-5,816 yıl, erkek bireyler için; L∞=37,583 cm, K=0,061 yıl-1, t0=-4,623 yıl ve tüm bireyler için L∞=35,419 cm, K=0,064 yıl-1, t0=-4,797 yıl olarak hesaplanmıştır.
