Öğe The Assessment of Factors Related to Family Life in Children with Cerebral Palsy(Galenos Publ House, 2022) Akkaya, Kamile Uzun; Bezgin, Sabiha; Elbasan, BulentIntroduction: Many permanent problems can be seen together in children with cerebral palsy (CP). Therefore they need lifelong care and there are many factors that affect the family life of children with CP. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between factors such as the level of independence in daily living activities in children with CP, motor function levels, type of CP, and emotional state, cooperative activities, self-time, and family adjustment in the family. Materials and Methods: Two hundred and sixteen children with CP in an age range of 4-18 years were included in the study. The relationship between the WeeFIM, motor function levels, the number of siblings, and the parental impact-emotional, parental impact-time, family activities, and family cohesion domains of the CHQ-PF50 were examined. The effects of the type of CP on family life were investigated. Results: A positive weak correlation was observed between the WeeFIM, the number of siblings and CHQ-PF50 values (p<0.05). A negative weak correlation was observed between the motor function levels and parental impact-time (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that family life was positively affected with the increase in the independence levels of the children with CP in daily living activities. As the motor function levels of children with CP deteriorated, families were negatively affected in terms of time management. It was observed that having siblings had positive contributions to family life for children with CP.Öğe Burnout and anxiety level of healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic in Turkey(Ios Press, 2021) Dogru-Huzmeli, Esra; Cam, Yagmur; Urfali, Senem; Gokcek, Ozden; Bezgin, Sabiha; Urfali, Boran; Uysal, HakanBACKGROUND: COVID-19 has affected many countries in the world and has been known as one of the fast-spreading viruses in recent history. OBJECTIVE: Our aim is to reveal the level of anxiety and burnout, attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors of healthcare professionals about COVID-19 in Turkey. METHODS: The individuals included in the study answered seven questions containing demographic information, 27 questions determining their views and perspectives on COVID-19. Anxiety level was measured by Beck Anxiety Scale (BAI), and State Anxiety Inventory (SAT); burnout was measured by Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBT). RESULTS: We included 66 health staff (50 female, 16 male) whose mean age was 31.71 +/- 5.18 years (22-46 ranged). Twenty-two (33.3%) of the participants worked on the COVID-19 frontline while 44 (66.6%) of them worked on usual wards. We found that participants' anxiety was at a moderate level in BAI (mean: 14.00 +/- 12.66). The mean of the SAI was 49.93 +/- 13.06. MBI subscales were low. We found that there was a significant difference in BAI between COVID-19 frontline healthcare professionals and those who worked on the usual wards (p = 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: It is important to consider the level of anxiety and burnout in all healthcare professionals and to help them to protect their mental health.Öğe A COMPARISON OF THE MUSCLE ACTIVATION, PROPRIOCEPTION AND ANTHROPOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DOMINANT AND NON-DOMINANT WRISTS(Dokuz Eylul Univ Inst Health Sciences, 2022) Sertel, Meral; Sahan, Tezel Yildirim; Bezgin, Sabiha; Oral, Muhammet Ayhan; Kocaman, Ayse Abit; Arslan, Saniye Aydogan; Demirci, CevherPurpose: Manual asymmetry refers to tendency that is in favor of hand to perform manual tasks requiring skills, it is important in every sensory and motor function. This study aimed to compare the muscle activation, proprioception, and anthropometric characteristics of the dominant and non-dominant wrists. Methods: In the study, forty young individuals aged between 18-25 years, who volunteered to participate, were included. As anthropometric measurements, the upper extremity length measurement forearm length measurement, hand length measurement wrist diameter measurement, hand width, shape and digit index measurements were performed, respectively. The muscle strength of wrist flexor and extensor muscles was measured by a hand dynamometer, while their muscle activations were measured by electromyography. The arm carrying angle was evaluated by a universal goniometer. Results: The mean age of the individuals included in the study was 22.51 +/- 0.35 years. In the right dominant individuals, when the dominant and non-dominant sides were compared, a statistically significant difference was found between flexor muscle activations, muscle strength, and hand width (p<0.05). No difference was detected between the digit and shape indices, proprioception, wrist diameter, forearm length, cubital angles, and upper extremity length (p>0.05). Conclusion: Finding the dominant side's wrist flexor muscle activations, extensor muscle strength, and hand widths better in young individuals showed that the dominant side was frequently used in daily living activities. The difference was seen that the non-dominant side would be weaker and at higher risk of deformity with increasing age and in the presence of any rheumatic, orthopedic, and neurologic diseases.Öğe The Cutoff Value of the Calf-Raise Senior Test for Older Faller(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2020) Abit Kocaman, Ayse; Demirci, Cevher; Aydogan Arslan, Saniye; Yildirim Sahan, Tezel; Vergili, Ozge; Oral, M.
