Öğe Assessment of changes in color and color parameters of light-cured composite resin after alternative polymerization methods(Dental Investigations Society, 2013) Karaarslan Dr., Emine Sirin; Bulbul, Mehmet; Ertas, Ertan; Cebe, Mehmet Ata; Usumez, AslihanObjective: To examine the amount of change in color and color parameters of a composite resin (Filtek P60) polymerized by five different polymerization methods. Methods: A Teflon mold (6mm in diameter, 2mm in height) was used to prepare the composite resin discs (n=10). G1: Polymerization with inlay oven; G2: Polymerization with HQTH and autoclave; G3: Polymerization with LED and autoclave; G4: Polymerization with HQTH; G5: Polymerization with LED. Colorimetric values of the specimens before and after polymerization were measured using a spectrophotometer. The CIE L*a*b color system was used for the determination of color difference. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to analyze the data for significant differences. Tukey's HSD test and paired two-tailed tests were used to perform multiple comparisons (a=.05). Results: There were no significant differences in total color change (?E*ab) among the polymerization groups (P>.05). However, the lowest color change (?E*ab) value was 3.3 in LED and autoclave; the highest color change (?E*ab) value was 4.6 in HQTH. For all groups, CIE L*, C*ab and a*values decreased after polymerization (P<.05). The highest ?b* and ?C*ab values were observed in specimens polymerized in an inlay oven (P<.05). Conclusions: Composite resin material showed color changes above the clinically accepted value in all study groups (?E*ab=3.3). All specimens became darker during investigation (?L*< 0). Specimens polymerized with inlay oven presented the highest ?b* values which means less yellow color in specimens.Öğe Çürük tespit boyalarının çürükten etkilenmiş dentinde bağ lanma dayanımı üzerine etkisi(2014) Yalçın, Muhammet; Cebe, Fatma; Cebe, Mehmet Ata; Dündar, Ayşe; Öztürk, Bora; Şengün, AbdulkadirAmaç: Bu çalış manın amacı 3 farklı çürük tespit boyasının, çürükten etkilenmiş dentinde bir adeziv sistemin makaslanma bağ lanma dayanımına olan etkilerinin incelenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu çalış mada 60 adet çekilmiş çürüklü insan 3. molar diş i kullanıldı. Sonuçlar: Bu in-vitro çalış manın sonuçlarına göre çürük tespit boyaları çürükten etkilenmiş dentinde daha yüksek bağ lanma dayanımı elde edilmesine neden olabilmektedir.Öğe Elution of monomer from different bulk fill dental composite resins(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2015) Cebe, Mehmet Ata; Cebe, Fatma; Cengiz, Mehmet Fatih; Cetin, Ali Riza; Arpag, Osman Fatih; Ozturk, BoraObjective. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the elution of Bis-GMA, TEGDMA, HEMA, and Bis-EMA monomers from six bulk fill composite resins over four different time periods, using HPLC. Methods. Six different composite resin materials were used in the present study: Tetric Evo Ceram Bulk Fill (Ivoclar Vivadent, Amherst, NY), X-tra Fill (VOCO, Cuxhaven, Germany), Sonic Fill (Kerr, Orange, CA, USA), Filtek Bulk Fill (3M ESPE Dental Product, St. Paul, MN), SDR (Dentsply, Konstanz, Germany), EQUIA (GC America INC, Alsip, IL). The samples (4 mm thickness, 5 mm diameter) were prepared and polymerized for 20s with a light emitted diode unit. After fabrication, each sample was immediately immersed in 75 wt% ethanol/water solution used as extraction fluid and stored in the amber colored bottles at room temperature. Ethanol/water samples were taken (0.5 mL) at predefined time intervals:10 m (T1), 1 h (T2), 24h (T3) and 30 days (T4). These samples were analyzed by HPLC. The obtained data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and Tukey HSD at significance level of p < 0.05. Results. Amount of eluted Bis-EMA and Bis-GMA from Tetric Evo Ceram Bulk Fill and amount of eluted TEGDMA and HEMA from X-tra Fill higher than others composites (p < 0.05). Significance. Residual monomers were eluted from bulk fill composite resins in all time periods and the amount of eluted monomers was increased with time. (C) 2015 Academy of Dental Materials. Sixty premolar teeth and sixty brackets were randomly and equally divided into five groups: Transbond XT (TXT) as the control, Maxcem Elite (ME) without etching, ME with etching (ME/Etch), Vertise Flow (VF) without etching, and VF with etching (VF/Etch). Respective SBS results of the five groups were 9.86 +/- 3.20, 4.67 +/- 2.94, 7.82 +/- 2.56, 2.55 +/- 0.77, and 7.89 +/- 1.17 MPa. SBS values of the new self-etch adhesive systems were significantly lower than the traditional etch-and-rinse control (p<0.005). However, no significant differences were found between TXT and the self-adhesives applied with etching (p>0.005). After debonding, ARI scores 0 and 1 were predominant in non-etched ME and VF groups. It was concluded that new self-etch, self-adhesive bonding systems require additional phosphoric acid application to achieve comparable SBS values as the traditional orthodontic bonding agent.Öğe Influence of caries detection dye on composites bond strength of carious affected dentin(Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Dentistry, 2014) Yalçin, Muhammet; Cebe, Fatma; Cebe, Mehmet Ata; Dündar, Ayşe; Öztürk, Bora; Şengun, AbdulkadirObjectives: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate effect of three different caries detecting dyes on shear bond strength of a self etch adhesive to caries affected dentin. Materials and Methods: 60 extracted human third molars which are affected by caries used in this study. Occlusal surfaces removed to obtain flat dentinal surfaces and teeth mounted acrylic. Specimens were divided into four groups of 15 to be tested three different caries detecting dyes. First group is control and others Caries Detector, Quadrant Cari Test, Sable Seek groups. In control group decayed dentine tissues remowed with silicon carbite papers (300 gride) and in others groups caries detectors applied and carious dentine tissues remowed with silicon carbite papers. Than dentin bonding systems Clearfil SE Bond applied and specimens restorated with composite resin. All products were used according to manufacturer's instructions. Bond strengths were tested and data were statistically analyzed one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Tukey tests. Results: As results of this study, Quadrant Cari Test group showed lower bond strength than other detecting dyes groups. While bond strengths of Caries Detector and Sable Seek groups were similar, their bond strengths were significantly higher than Quadrant Cari Test group (p<0,05). Conclusions: According to the results of this in vitro study caries detecting dyes may lead to increased shear bond strength values obtained.
