The new species, Ceranisus amanosus Doğanlar, Gumovsky, Doğanlar was compared with the closely related species, Ceranisus menes (Walker, 1839), of the genus. The composition of the setal rows on the pregenital sclerites is proposed for the first time as a diagnostic charater separating two similar species in the genus. DNA sequences of 28S D2 (nuclear), Cytochrome Oxidase I (COI, mitochondrial) and Cytochrome B (CytB, mitochondrial) genes are provided for the new species as a barcoding data.Öğe A new species of Westralianus Boucek 1988 (Hymenoptera: Torymidae: Megastigminae) from Turkey(2011) Doğanlar, MikdatA new species of the Australian genus Westralianus Boucek (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea, Torymidae) is described from Altınözü, Hatay, Turkey. Some new diagnostic characters of the genus are provided by inclusion of a second species in the genus. The new species, W. altinoezus n.sp., is compared with the type species, W. microstigma Boucek 1988. The new species was recorded as a parasitoid of caterpillars of an unknown species of Lepidoptera living in galls of Gymnosporangium confusum (Uredinales: Pucciniaceae) on shoots of Crataegus monogyna Jacq. A description of the new species is provided and its diagnostic characters are photographed.Öğe Occurrence of fig wasps (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) in Ficus caria and F. microcarpa in Hatay, Turkey(2012) Doğanlar, MikdatThis study focuses on fig wasps (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea), considering that only 2 fig wasp species, Blastophaga psenes (L.) and Philotrypesis caricae (L.) (new record) are associated with Ficus carica in Turkey. Five fig wasps species, namely Eupristina verticillata Waterston, Walkerella microcarpae Bouček, Odontofroggatia ishii Wiebes, Philotrypesis taiwanensis Chen, and Philotrypesis emeryi Grandi were found on Ficus microcarpa (L.), which is an Asian fig tree, and has been ornamentally cultivated in Turkey since the 1930s. Among them, E. verticillata was detected as a specific pollinator of F. microcarpa, the rest of the species were not pollinators, and all of them are new records for Turkey. The results suggest that the time of influx of these wasps into Turkey is unknown, but it can be assumed that they came together with F. microcarpa when it was brought from somewhere in the world during the period before the Hatay Republic. Distribution, biology, and systematic notes of each species are all given.Öğe Palearctic species of Chrysomalla Förster, 1859 (Hymenoptera: Perilampidae : Chrysolampinae), with descriptions of new species from Turkey(2012) Doğanlar, Mikdat; Doğanlar, OğuzhanChrysomalla Förster 1859 (Hymenoptera: Perilampidae: Chrysolampinae)’nın Palearktik türleri incelenmiş, bazı yeni karakterler ile bu türlerin teşhisi için bir anahtar oluşturulmuştur. Average level of infestation on olive leaves and shoots by gall midges was 15.2 % and the highest level 78.2 %. Olive leaves, normally evergreen and outlasting on branches for several years, seriously injured by gall midges fell off and defoliage resulted in loss of ability to product flower buds and fruits in the following year. Dasineura oleae causing significant reduction or loss of yield of olive fruits is a serious pest of olive tree and we declare here its pest status. Population levels of gall midges on olive leaves were significantly reduced by 12 species of parasitic Hymenoptera belonging to five families, viz. Platygaster oleae Szelenyi, 1940 (Platygastridae); Eupelmus urozonus Dalman 1820 (Eupelmidae); Torymus phillyreae Ruschka, 1921 (Torymidae); Mesopolobus mediterraneus (Mayr, 1903), Mesopolobus diffinis (Walker, 1834) and Mesopolobus aspilus (Walker, 1835) (Pteromalidae); Quadrastichus dasineurae Doganlar, LaSalle, Sertkaya & Doganlar, 2009, Aprostocetus samandagus Doğanlar 2011, Aprostocetus lasiopterus Doğanlar 2011, Zeytinus hatayensis Doğanlar 2011 and additional 2 undescribed species of the genus Aprostocetus (Eulophidae). Larvae of these parasitoids kill larvae and pupae of gall midges inside galls. Total level of parasitism amounts 66.2 %. E. urozonus, P. oleae and Q. dasineurae are three main parasitoids reared from galls of D. oleae and L. oleicola sp. new They are very effective and reduce significantly the populations of D. oleae in galls, together for about 70 %, and may beevaluated as important supressors of olive leaf gall midges. Lasioptera oleicola Skuhravá sp. new is described, its taxonomically important features are illustrated and some biological data are given.Öğe Podagrionella Girault, 1913 (Hymenoptera: Torymidae : Podagrionini) species from Turkey, with descriptions of new species(2009) Doğanlar, Oğuzhan; Doğanlar, MikdatTwo new Podagrionella Girault, 1913 (Hymenoptera: Torymidae: Podagrionini) species, Podagrionella eremiaphilae sp. nov. and P. konyaensis sp. nov., were collected from Konya and Şanlıurfa (Bozova) provinces and are described.
