Öğe Increased Epicardial Fat Tissue is a Marker of Subclinic Atherosclerosis in Patients with Psoriasis(Elsevier Science Inc, 2013) Sen, Bilge Buelbuel; Atci, Nesrin; Rifaioglu, Emine Nur; Ekiz, Oezlem; Kartal, Ismail; Buyukkaya, Eyup; Kurt, Mustafa[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Multiple Biliary Hamartomas (Von Meyenburg Complex): A Case Report with Imaging Findings(Derman Medical Publ, 2014) Kartal, Ismail; Bayarogullari, HanifiMultiple biliary hamartomas, also known as von Meyenburg complex, is a rare benign intrahepatic biliary duct malformation. Diagnosis of this disease is established incidentally because of patients with these malformation are usually asymptomatic and liver function tests are normal. In this article, we aimed to present a forty-three years old patient with multiple biliary hamartomas who admitted to our hospital with dyspepsia and no previously known disease.Öğe SCREENING FOR ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM IN GERIATRIC POPULATION(Derman Medical Publ, 2017) Karakus, Ali; Tasin, Veyis; Kartal, Ismail; Kuvandik, GuvenAim: An abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is uncommon in people. Male gender and smoking are the most important risk factors. AAA is a condition that may be fatal when diagnosis is delayed This study aimed to emphasize the necessity for screening due to four fatal cases with abdominal aortic aneurysm in a genatric population. Material and Method The study included 320 patients from a nursing home and an emergency department The diameters of abdominal aortas were measured and assessed far risk factors. Results: Of the patients, 232 (72.5% were male and the mean age was 75.65 +/- 7.76 (range: 62-95 years). Hypertension was the most frequent risk factor determined. Mean aortic diameter was found as 18.87 +/- 2.74 mm (range 15-26 mm) No significant associations were detected among risk factors, age groups, and aortic diameter Four cases with abdominal aortic aneurysm died. Discussion AM is the most frequently seen aneurysm among true aneurysms. Major risk factors for AAA include male gender. smoking history. and age >65 years. In advanced ages, particularly in men, screening for AAA reduced deaths caused by rupture. The patients should be assessed for surgical intervention by Taking risk factors into consideration. Large-scale screening studies can reduce risk for mortality.Öğe Two cases with giant pseudo-aneurysm of vertebral artery secondary to shrapnel injury(Springer, 2016) Bayarogullari, Hanifi; Yanmaz, Rasim; Kartal, Ismail; Burakgazi, GulenDue to their locations, vertebral arteries (VA) are structures that are rarely injured after traumas. Formation of vertebral pseudo-aneurysm (PA) because of pieces of shrapnel is also rare. It causes clinical findings like cervical mass after the injury Two Syrian 12- and 17-year-old male patients were admitted to the Department of Ear, Nose and Throat with the complaint of swelling in the left lower cervical region. In their USG examination which was ordered to investigate the cervical lesion, a lesion consistent with PA which shows a prominently thick wall structure due to circumferential thrombus formation and fibrotic tissue, chaotic flow, and ying-yang appearance in the centrally located cavity of the lesion in a color Doppler examination was detected. Later, multi-detector computed tomography angiography (MDCTA) was planned to demonstrate pseudo-aneurysms (PAs). Because there was no report on the development of giant pseudo-aneurysms secondary to shrapnel injury to date and because we thought these cases are demonstrative, we found the cases suitable for presenting as case reports.
