Finiteness Conditions for Unions of Two Semigroups and Ranks of B(G,n)

In this paper we try to find the finiteness conditions for union of two finite semigroups with a specially defined binary equation. Moreover we find the ranks of the semigroup B(G, n).
Rank properties of certain semigroups

In this paper we consider certain ranks of some semigroups. These ranks are r (1)(S),r (2)(S),r (3)(S),r (4)(S) and r (5)(S) as defined below. We have r (1)a parts per thousand currency signr (2)a parts per thousand currency signr (3)a parts per thousand currency signr (4)a parts per thousand currency signr (5). The semigroups are CL (n) ,CL (m) xCL (n) ,Z (n) and SL (n) . Here CL (n) is a chain with n elements, Z (n) is the zero semigroup on n elements and SL (n) is the free semilattice generated by n elements and having 2 (n) -1 elements. We find many of the ranks for these classes of semigroups.
Some properties of a class of polyhedral semigroups based upon the subword reversing method

In this paper a certain class of polyhedral semigroups which has a presentation < a, b | a2n = b2n = (ab)n > is examined. The completeness of the presentation and solvability of word problem of this class of semigroups is determined. Moreover the combinatorial distance between two words is determined. © 2015 Iranian Mathematical Society.
