Öğe Deep-Water Decapod Crustacean Fauna of the Sigacik Bay, Aegean Sea Coast of Turkey(Ege Univ, 2009) Ozcan, Tahir; Katagan, TuncerSurveys of this study were conducted between July 2005 and June 2006 in the Sigacik Bay. A total of 21 Decapod species was during caught in 6 trawl surveys at the different depths between 200 and 600 m. 21 decapod species were identified, of which 2 are Dendrobranchiata, 4 Caridea, 11 Brachyura, 2 Anomura, 1 Astacidea and 1 Eryonidea. Concerning their depth distribution, 16 species were found in 300-400 m zone, with brachyuran crab, Macropipus tuberculatus (Roux, 1830) being the most abundant species (22.93%).Öğe FIRST RECORD OF EURYCARCINUS INTEGRIFRONS DE MAN, 1879 (DECAPODA, PILUMNIDAE) FROM THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA(Brill Academic Publishers, 2010) Ozcan, Tahir; Katagan, Tuncer; Ng, Peter K. A total of 9 samplings were conducted at 5 stations and 2 different biotopes. One species (Gnathia dentata) is reported for the first time from the Mediterranean Sea, two species (Campecopea hirsuta and Eurydice truncata) are new for the eastern Mediterranean Sea, and two species (Cyathura carinata and Paradella dianae) for the fauna of Cyprus.Öğe First record of Palaemonetes mesopotamicus Pesta, 1913 (Decapoda: Palaemonidae) from Turkey(Max Kasparek Verlag, 2012) Ozcan, Tahir; Erdogan, Halil; Ashelby, Christopher[Abstract Not Available]Öğe FOUR SPECIES OF PARASITIC ISOPODS (ISOPODA, CYMOTHOIDAE) NEW TO THE FAUNA OF CYPRUS(Brill Academic Publishers, 2009) Kirkim, Fevzi; Ozcan, Tahir; Katagan, Tuncer[Abstract Not Available]Öğe A new record of a sea spider from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea: Ascorhynchus castelli (Dohrn, 1881) (Arthropoda: Pyenogonida)(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2009) Ozcan, Tahir; Bakir, Kerem; Vignoli, Valerio; Katagan, Tuncer[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Population biology of sand crab [Portunus pelagicus (Linneaus, 1758)] blue crab [Callinectes sapidus Rathbun, 1896] in Iskenderun Bay(Ege Univ, 2006) Ozcan, Tahir; Akyurt, IhsanThe Indo-Pacific originated sand crab [Portunus pelagicus (Linneaus, 1758)] and Atlantic originated blue crab (Callinectes sapidus Rathbun, 1896) were observed in Iskenderun Bay between July 2002 and June 2003. The study was based on the comparison of length distribution and sex ratio of crabs. A total of 467 individuals (139 blue crabs and 328 sand crabs) were examined. The males of sand crab was determined to be dominant representing 58% of the population, and the average width of long carapace of females was found to be 119.9 +/- 2,8 mm, while the carapace width for males was 104,9 +/- 2,1 mm in average. The case seems to be contrast for blue crab female population, which was dominant with the proportion of 69% and average width of long carapace of them was found to be 148,9 +/- 2,5 mm. The average width of long carapace was 123,3 +/- 3,4 mm for males, which represented 31% of the total population.Öğe Two new records of caridean shrimps from Turkish waters: Eaulus sollaudi (Zariquiey Cenarro, 1935) (Caridea, Hippolyte) and Palaemonella rotumana (Borradaile, 1898) (Caridea, Palaemonidae)(Tubitak Scientific & Technological Research Council Turkey, 2009) Ates, A. Suat; Bakir, Kerem; Ozcan, Tahir; Katagan, TuncerThis paper concerns 2 new shrimp records, Eualus sollaudi (Zariquiey Cenarro, 1935) and Palaemonella rotumana (Borradaile, 1898), found during sampling performed by scuba divers near the coast in Fethiye Bay (the eastern Mediterranean, Turkey) in June and July 2008.Öğe An updated list of decapod crustaceans on the Turkish coast with a new record of the Mediterranean shrimp, Processa acutirostris Nouvel and Holthuis 1957 (Caridea, Processidae)(Univ Oradea Publ House, 2010) Ates, Abdullah Suat; Kocatas, Ahmet; Katagan, Tuncer; Ozcan, TahirThe present paper includes an updated list of the decapod crustaceans collected during the surveys performed on the Turkish coast. A total of 244 species was reported (88 Natantia, 17 Macrura Reprantia, 37 Anomura, 102 Brachyura), an increase of 9.84% over the number published by Kocatas & Katagan (2003). Zoogeographic remarks regarding the species are briefly discussed. The Mediterranean caridean shrimp, Processa acutirostris Nouvel and Holthuis, 1957 recently collected from the Turkish Mediterranean coast is a new record for the Turkish Seas. The following nomenclature is also up to date based on the Marine Species (Worms, 2008)
