Öğe Determining the resource use efficiency in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production: A case study of Edirne Province - Turkey(2013) Semerci, A.In this research, it is aimed to determine physical production inputs, which are used for wheat production, made in rain fed conditions in agricultural enterprises in Edirne, located in European Continent, Turkey, and to determine the resource use efficiency of previously mentioned activity. The data, used in this research were obtained from 90 agricultural enterprises in Edirne in 18 settlements, which have been marked through "Multi Stratified Random Sampling Method" by the means of questionnaire. In the enterprises analyzed, it was determined that in wheat production 21.70 kg seed, 55.32 kg chemical fertilizer and 87.31 cc pesticide were required for the yield about 405.64 kg da-1. Determination coefficient equation (R2), acquired by using Cobb-Douglas type production function, is 0.965 and because of functional analysis, there is an increasing return to scale (??i = 1.119). All of the variables in production equation are significant at 5% level and their elasticity coefficients have positive valence. In the end of the research, it is proved that land value and pesticide factors are used actively in wheat production. However, for higher yield, an increase in the quantity of seed and fertilizer is required.Öğe Economic Analysis of Dairy Farms: The Case of Hatay Province(Univ Namik Kemal, 2015) Semerci, A.; Parlakay, O.; Celik, A. DuranIn this study, economic analysis of the dairy farming enterprises operating in the province of Hatay has been conducted. Data, used in the study, has been collected from 141 dairy farming enterprises in 24 local areas which have been determined by layered random sampling method. Total dairy farming branch assets (active capital) is 11366985 TL and livestock capital share is 56.18%. Average cattle number in the enterprises is 11.04 and cow number is 4.87. Average milk production in the enterprises studied is about 27.4 tonnes. Average milk yield is defined as 18.73 lt/head for milker cows. Total variable expenditure in the dairy farming activity is totally 2.3 million TL and standing costs are defined as 1.3 million TL. As a result of the study, gross production value of dairy farming branch is estimated as 4.4 million TL. Of this figure, 83% consists of milk and milk products. Gross margin per enterprise is 13.7 thousand TL and net profit is 4.5 thousand TL. Milk cost is estimated as 0.94 TL/lt in the study. Average milk selling price is 1 TL/lt of the enterprises in 2013. Economic profitability related with milk production activities is estimated as 7.62% and fiscal profitability is 6.05%. Results of the study show that producers need to become members of organisations providing milk marketing services.Öğe Productivity analysis of sunflower cultivations in Turkey(2012) Semerci, A.The objective of this research is to determine the resource use efficiency in three different types of sunflower production with respect to orobanche resistance in the agricultural enterprises in Thrace Region, Turkey. The data used in this research have been obtained through questionnaire technique from 571 agricultural enterprises which were determined by "Stratified Random Sampling Method" in 2009. In this research, the production elasticity of coefficient (PEC), the marginal income (MI), and the marginal efficiency of coefficients (MEC) of inputs used in 3 types sunflower productions have been made and economically interpreted. In this study, it has been reached to the highest yield by 189.30 kg da-1 in the production of sunflower, resistant to orobanche. In the estimating equations of 3 different types of sunflower, which have been obtained by Cobb-Douglas function type, it has been concluded that there is a decreasing return to scale.Öğe PRODUCTIVITY ANALYSIS OF SUNFLOWER CULTIVATIONS IN TURKEY(Scientific Issues Natl Centre Agrarian Sciences, 2012) Semerci, A.The objective of this research is to determine the resource use efficiency in three different types of sunflower production with respect to orobanche resistance in the agricultural enterprises in Thrace Region, Turkey.
