    Non-tariff barriers in exporting to Middle Eastern countries (the case of Hatay province)

    Non-tariff barriers in exporting to Middle Eastern countries (the case of Hatay province) This study aims to determine the non-tariff barriers (NTBs) faced by Turkish exporters in exporting to Syria, Saudi Arabia and Jordan as Middle Eastern countries. The research has been made by collecting samples from 80 Turkish firms, which are 40% of the total number of firms in the population, operating in Hatay province. The ATBs are classified by types of barriers and has been analyzed by using One-way ANOVA and Post Hoc tests. Findings are as follows; there are significant differences among three countries regarding unequal customs rules and procedures and underveloped banking system in Middle Eastern Countries, but no significant differences have been found among three countries regarding technical measures and not-being institutionalized in foreign trade transactions. Moreover, it has been found that there are significant differences among product groups in terms of NTBs.
