Öğe BAZI MELEZ SÜS BİBERLERİNİN ÇIKIŞ VE ERKEN FİDE DÖNEMİ ÖZELLİKLERİNİN EBEVEYN GENOTİPLERLE KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI(2022) Toprak, Seher; Özmen, Kübra; Faruk, Coşkun Ömer; Mavi, KazımBu çalışmada Antakya koşullarında bazı melez süs biberlerinin tohum çıkış performansları ve erken fide dönemi özelliklerinin ebeveyn genotipleri ile karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. İncelenen özelliklerden fide çıkış oranı en yüksek MKÜ-128, MKÜ-124, 127×126(F?/1), 128×106 ve 106×124 (F?/1) genotiplerinde belirlenmiştir. Ortalama fide çıkış zamanı ebeveynlerden MKÜ-106 kodlu genotipte 12.56 gün ile en erken gerçekleşmiştir. Ortalama çıkış hızı (0.53) ve ortalama çıkış hızı kat sayısı (113.7) özellikleri de MKÜ-106 kodlu genotipte en yüksek bulunmuştur. Bitki boyu 106×124 (F?/2) melez bireylerinde 17.35 cm ile en yüksek belirlenirken, 6.66 cm ile 126×127 melez bireylerinde en kısa olarak belirlenmiştir. İlk çiçek tomurcuğu görünme zamanı 127×126 (F?/1) melez bireylerinde 45 gün, ilk çiçeklenme zamanı 127×126 (F?/1) melez bireylerinde 62 gün ve ilk meyve tutum zamanı 128×106 melez bireylerinde 66 gün olarak saptanmıştır. Klorofil içeriği 52.08 SPAD değeri ile 128×106 melez bireylerinde en yüksek değere sahip olmuştur. Bu sonuçlar ışığında süs biberlerinde bitki özelliklerine (çıkış ve erken fide dönemi özellikleri) ilişkin genetik kazanımların melezleme programları kullanılarak artırılabileceği öngörülmektedir.Öğe Determination of the effect of cucumber grafting on some morphological and physiological characteristics in hydroponic conditions(2023) Faruk, Coşkun Ömer; Toprak, SeherDue to the benefits and importance of the use of grafted seedlings, the demand for high quality grafted seedlings is increasing. In this study, it was aimed to determine the effect of rootstocks on some morphological and physiological parameters of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) plant under hydroponic growing conditions. In this study, grafted on seven different rootstocks and non-grafted plant characteristics were compared. Non-grafted seedlings were used as control plants. The values measured in at least one grafting application in 9 different morphological and/or physiological parameters among the 12 parameters measured were higher than the non-grafted plants. In leaf chlorophyll content (SPAD), photosynthetic active radiation (PAR) and root dry weight/fresh weight rate measurements, the values measured in non-grafted plants were not lower than grafted plants. It was determined that Cremna and Devrim rootstocks were effective in terms of shoot length and biomass values, but rootstock use did not have a significant effect in terms of photosynthetic activity. It was concluded that grafting of cucumber plants on different rootstocks may cause significant advantages in terms of some parameters, but the effects largely depend on the rootstock selection.Öğe The Effect of Different Pre-sowing Treatments on Seedling Emergence, Quality and Development in Passiflora edulis Seeds(Springer, 2023) Uzunoglu, Fulya; Ozmen, Kuebra; Toprak, Seher; Ergan, Emine; Mavi, KazimPassiflora is cultivated for its edible fruits and many features such as flavor properties, aroma, high antioxidant activity in nutrient content, pharmaceutical effects, and ornamental plant feature, which has been widely used for decorative purposes in recent years. It has also been reported that seeds of Passiflora species have physical dormancy due to mechanical and chemical factors. Pre-sowing seed treatments are preferred for breaking dormancy as well as homogeneous seedling growth, increasing the emergence rate, improving seedling quality, high applicability and being economical. In this study, Passiflora edulis Sims f. edulis seeds extracted from fruits were used. Hydropriming, Ferula priming (FER), Tagetes priming (TAG), salt priming (KNO3), hormone priming (GA(3)) and stratification treatments were applied to the seeds before sowing. Results revealed that the highest emergence percentage (60%) and the least mean emergence time (22 days) were obtained from the stratification treatments. The emergence speed index (4.55) and coefficient of velocity of emergence (0.69) gave the highest value of the stratification treatments. In the first seedling measurements made to determine the seedling quality criteria, GA(3), TAG and FER treatments, and in the final seedling measurements, stratification and FER treatments came to the fore. It is recommended that further tests on seedling quality be conducted using variable temperatures and to use it in future studies by changing the times of stratification treatments.Öğe NANOPRİMİNG UYGULAMALARININ KAVUN (Cucumis melo L.) TOHUMLARINDA ÇIKIŞ VE FİDE KALİTESİNE ETKİSİ(2022) Özmen, Kübra; Toprak, Seher; Coşkun, Ömer Faruk; Şahin, Bünyamin; Mavi, KazımBitkisel üretimde geniş kullanım alanı bulan nanomateryallerin, priming uygulamalarındaki etkileri daha önceki çalışmalarda belirlenmiştir. Kavun (cv. Kırkağaç) tohumlarına, hidropriming, organik priming ajanı olarak Ferula elaeochytris sakız ekstraktı (0.2 g l?¹) ve Tagetes erecta taç yaprak ekstraktı (4 g l?¹), nanopriming ajanı olarak ZnO+CaNO? (0.002 g l?¹, 0.004 g l?¹ ve 0.01 g l?¹) ve ZnO+Ca?PO? (0.002 g l?¹, 0.004 g l?¹ ve 0.01 g l?¹) uygulamaları yapılmıştır. En yüksek çıkış oranı %97 ile hidropriming ve CaNO? (0.01 g l?¹) nanopriming uygulamalarından elde edilmiştir. Ortalama çıkış süresi ZnO+Ca?PO? (0.01 g l?¹) nanopriming uygulamasında 115 saat ile en kısa sürede tamamlanmıştır. Fide kalite parametrelerinden yaş ve kuru ağırlık içeriği (sırasıyla 14.48 mg, 2.01 mg) ZnO+CaNO? (0.01 g l?¹) nanopriming uygulamasında en yüksek bulunmuştur. En yüksek fide boyları hidropriming uygulamasında 55.60 mm ve ZnO+Ca?PO? (0.002 g l?¹) nanopriming uygulamasında 54.20 mm olarak belirlenmiştir. En yüksek klorofil içeriği 43.33 SPAD değeri ile ZnO+Ca?PO? (0.004 g l?¹) nanopriming uygulamasından elde edilmiştir. Yaprak boyu, yaprak eni ve yaprak alan değerleri Tagetes erecta organik priming uygulaması ve ZnO+CaNO? (0.004 g l?¹) nanopriming uygulamasında öne çıkmıştır. Tüm nanopriming uygulamaları kontrol grubuna kıyasla istatistiksel olarak önemli bulunmuş ve ekim öncesi tohum uygulamalarında kullanılabileceği belirlenmiştir (p<0.05).Öğe Some seed properties and molecular analysis with inter-primary binding site (iPBS) retrotranposons markers of edible-seeded watermelon genotypes(Springer, 2024) Coskun, Omer Faruk; Toprak, Seher; Mavi, KazimWatermelon, one of the most important vegetable species in the world, is grown mostly for its fruit. However, there are also genotypes grown for their seeds in some parts of the world and that have snack potential due to their seed characteristics. This study was carried out to determine the morphological-molecular variation of edible-seeded watermelon genotypes and to identify markers associated with seed characteristics. Morphologically, 11 parameter measurements were made repeatedly. The highest value of the number of seed/fruit was determined in the HMKU-KR-15 genotype, and the highest value of 1000 seed weight was determined in the HMKU-KR-6 genotype. The lowest ease of cracking value and the highest weighted scaling score were detected in the HMKU-KR-20 genotype. In molecular research, a total of 135 bands in 24 genotypes were obtained using the inter-primary binding site (iPBS) marker technique and the polymorphism rate was calculated as 79.70%. Three main clusters emerged in cluster analysis. In structure analysis, it was determined that the genotypes consisted of two subpopulations. Seven markers were identified at levels of 29-46% related to seed characteristics. It has been determined that edible-seeded watermelon genotypes can be genetically distinguished using iPBS techniques. The results of this study can be used in breeding strategies to improve edible-seeded watermelon cultivars.
