Öğe A GLANCE AT THE INTERACTION BETWEEN MODERN OLYMPIC GAMES AND ENVIRONMENT IN THE EXTENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE PRACTICES(Scibulcom Ltd, 2022) Aykin, A. G.; Ustun, U. D.The relationship between humans and the environment has always been a concept among all civilizations from the time has started. But the recognition of the impossibility of protecting the environment without social and economic development is a product of 20th century and sports are not a part from this concept. Like all activities, sports have an impact on the environment and are also influenced by the environment. Modern Olympic Games is the first notion that occurs in mind when sports are said and directly related to the environment. So, Modern Olympic Games and International Olympic Committee can not be insensitive to that concept. In this study, the interactions between the Modern Olympic Games, International Olympic Committee practices and environment were examined. As a result, it was found out that the Modern Olympic Games and the International Olympic Committee are not independent of the environment and have essential practices to maintain a sustainable environment.Öğe OUTDOOR RECREATION PARTICIPATION, NATURE RELATEDNESS AND ENVIRONMENTAL ATTITUDE AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS(Scibulcom Ltd, 2022) Ustun, U. D.; Ustun, N. Aktas; Gumusgul, O.; Ari, C.; Erguven, A. T.Understanding the effects of outdoor recreational experiences on nature relatedness and environmental attitudes is a key to effective nature management. So, present study aimed to analyse nature relatedness and environmental attitude among university students who participated in outdoor recreation or not. 884 university students, chosen in a random way, voluntarily participated in the study. To collect data, in addition to personal information form nature relatedness scale and environmental attitudes scale were used. In the evaluation of the data, Cronbach' s alpha calculated for all the sub-dimensions and independent samples t-test was used as hypothesis tests alpha = 0.05. According to analysed results, there was no significant difference among participants' (N = 884) nature relatedness, environmental behaviour and environmental thoughts according to participation in outdoor recreation, on the other hand there were significant differences according to whether they had any curriculum lesson about environment. As a conclusion, this study showed that no matter university students participated in outdoor recreation or not, they do not differ in nature connectedness and environmental attitude, however students who took education about environment had more connectedness with nature and environmental behaviour.
