Öğe Effect of Leaf Damage Ratios on Peanut ( Arachis hypogaea L.) Production and Quality(Tarbiat Modares Univ, 2024) Yilmaz, M.; Sahin, C. B.; Isler, N.This study was carried out to determine the effects of leaf damage rates at different growth stages of peanut ( Arachis hypogaea L.) cultivars under Eastern Mediterranean conditions of Turkey (Osmaniye Province). The study was conducted in completely randomized design in split -split -plots with three replications, in 2020 and 2021. Cultivars NC 7 and Halisbey were in the main plots, growth stages (R1, R2 and R3) in sub -plots, and leaf damages (control, 25, 50, and 75%) in the sub -sub -plots. Yield and various quality parameters were measured and recorded. The highest value of the number of pods per plant was obtained from the Halisbey (24.5 +/- 0.4) cultivar, the R2 period (23.5 +/- 0.6), and the control (25.7 +/- 0.6) treatment. The number of pods per plant decreased when the leaf damage increased. The highest pod yield was obtained from NC 7 cultivar (2302 +/- 8.2 kg ha(-1)) and R1 period (2041 +/- 9.1 kg ha(-1) ). The order of leaf damage treatments in terms of yield was as the control (2536 +/- 8.8 kg ha(-1)), 25% LD treatment (2011 +/- 8.0 kg ha(-1)), 50% LD treatment (1906 +/- 11.9 kg ha(-1)), and 75% LD (1481 +/- 7.6 kg ha(-1)). Thus, it was determined that the selection of cultivars and integrated control against diseases and pests are important in order to reduce the effect of leaf damage on the quality and yield of peanuts in Osmaniye conditions.Öğe Effect of Leaf Damage Ratios on Peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) E.; Doger, E.; Cine, N.; Savli, H.Metabolic reprogramming is one of the hallmarks of cancer cells, but very little is known about the difference in the expression of metabolic genes between cancer and normal tissues. The degree to which different cancer types display similar metabolic alteration is poorly understood. The best-known example of metabolic disturbance in cancer cells is the Warburg effect. The Warburg effect is the phenomenon of the cancer cells favoring the anaerobic glycolysis even in the presence of oxygen. It is displayed by most cancer cells. Although the genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic studies have been published, metalobomic differences are still a major gap in our knowledge. Among women the most common malignancy is endometrial cancer. In this retrospective study, the authors investigated the genomic instability of glycolytic genes in endometrial carcinoma patients using array-based comparative genomic hybridization (aCGH) reports. The results indicate that among 54 patients diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma, in 21 patients, pathogenic genomic instability was detected which are linked with the disease. Among the 21 patients who had genomic instability, 19 of them (90.5%) displayed copy number variations of at least one or more glycolysis genes based on the genomic laboratory reports of the patients.Öğe Nebulized salbutamol for asthma: Effects on serum potassium and phosphate levels at the 60 min(Elsevier Doyma Sl, 2013) Sahan, M.; Yilmaz, M.; Gokel, Y.; Erden, E. S.; Karakus, A.Objective: We conducted this prospective study to expand available information in relation to serum phosphate levels in treatment of acute asthma. A beta-adrenergic agonist, salbutamol, was used for this purpose. Material and methods: Twenty-six patients who met the inclusion criteria as; age over 16 years, asthma history, and an acute exacerbation were included. Serum blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, glucose were within normal limits in all the patients. None of the patients were on chronic theophylline therapy. Baseline serum phosphate and potassium levels were measured. Nebulized salbutamol (2.5 mg) was used three times at every hour. After 60 min, serum phosphate and potassium levels were measured. Results: Serum phosphate levels decreased from 3.7 +/- 0.9 mg/dL (baseline) to 3.6 +/- 0.9 mg/dL at 60 min. This decrease was not statistically significant (p=0.373). Serum potassium levels decreased significantly (p < 0.001) from 4.6 +/- 0.7 mmol/L (baseline) to 4.3 +/- 0.7 mmol/L (60 min). Conclusion: Administration of nebulized salbutamol during the emergency treatment of acute exacerbation of asthma is not associated with a statistical decrease in serum phosphate. There was significant hypokalemia. This study indicates that a further study is needed to elucidate the clinical significance of nebulized salbutamol on serum phosphate.
