Öğe Assessment of Alveolar Bone Resorption and an Analysis of Occlusion for Implant Prosthetic Restorations in The Mandibular Molar Toothless Region(University of Dicle, 2021) Ergünbaws, Bilge; Zortuk, Mustafa; Sarı, Ayşegül; Çelik, Hasan AlpayThe present clinical study evaluated bone resorption and analyzed occlusions in patients who underwent an implant-supported fixed prosthesis operation in the posterior mandibular region. The study included 28 patients [15 men (53.6%) and 13 women (46.4%)] with a mean age of 54.0 ± 11.1 years (age range: 32–75 years) who underwent an implant-supported fixed prosthesis operation in the posterior mandibular region between 2016 and 2017. The amount of bone loss at 1 year after treatment and the occlusion analysis outcomes were evaluated. The anterior guidance, posterior dislocation, occlusal table, tubercle inclinations, and dental occlusion status were also determined. Based on the statistical analysis, distal bone loss was higher in female patients than in male patients; mesial bone loss was higher in cases with a wide occlusal table; mesial and distal bone loss was higher in cases with greater tubercular slope; and distal bone loss was more common in cases with surface-to-surface contact with temples. A wide occlusal table may be a risk factor for mesial bone loss in implant prosthetic restorations in the mandibular molar toothless region. © 2021,Journal of International Dental and Medical Research.All Rights ReservedÖğe Effect of different provisional cement remnant cleaning procedures including Er:YAG laser on shear bond strength of ceramics(Korean Acad Prosthodontics, 2012) Zortuk, Mustafa; Gumus, Hasan Onder; Kilinc, Halil Ibrahim; Tuncdemir, Ali RizaPURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of provisional cement removal by different dentin cleaning protocols (dental explorer, pumice, cleaning bur, Er:YAG laser) on the shear bond strength between ceramic and dentin. MATERIALS AND METHODS. In total, 36 caries-free unrestored human third molars were selected as tooth specimens. Provisional restorations were fabricated and cemented with eugenol-free provisional cement. Then, disc-shaped ceramic specimens were fabricated and randomly assigned to four groups of dentin cleaning protocols (n = 9). Group 1 (control): Provisional cements were mechanically removed with a dental explorer. Group 2: The dentin surfaces were treated with a cleaning brush with pumice Group 3: The dentin surfaces were treated with a cleaning bur. Group 4: The provisional cements were removed by an Er:YAG laser. Self-adhesive luting cement was used to bond ceramic discs to dentin surfaces. Shear bond strength (SBS) was measured using a universal testing machine at a 0.05 mm/min crosshead speed. The data were analyzed using a Kolmogorov Smirnov, One-way ANOVA and Tukey HSD tests to perform multiple comparisons (alpha=0.05). RESULTS. The dentin cleaning methods did not significantly affect the SBS of ceramic discs to dentin as follows: dental explorer, pumice, cleaning bur, and Er:YAG laser. CONCLUSION. The use of different cleaning protocols did not affect the SBS between dentin and ceramic surfaces. [J Adv Prosthodont 2012;4:192-6]Öğe Effect of Sterilization on Bond Strength and Mechanical Properties of Fiber Posts(Quintessence Publishing Co Inc, 2019) Yagci, Filiz; Ustun, Yakup; Zortuk, Mustafa; Agirnasligil, MehmetPurpose: To determine the effects of two different sterilization methods on the pull-out bond strength, flexural strength, and elastic modulus of glass-fiber posts. Materials and Methods: A total of 69 glass-fiber posts were used. The posts were divided into three groups according to applied sterilization method: 1) control, 2) ethylene oxide gas (EOG), and 3) autoclave. The microstructure of three posts from each group was evaluated by SEM and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Thirty glass-fiber posts were used to evaluate pull-out bond strength. The three-point bending test was performed to analyze the flexural strength on another 30 glass-fiber posts. Failure modes were categorized microscopically after the pull-out test. After the three-point bending test, micromorphology at the bending area was examined using SEM. Results: One-way ANOVA indicated no statistically significant differences among the group means in terms of bond strength (p > 0.05), flexural strength (p > 0.05), or elastic modulus (p > 0.05). EDS revealed that the weight percentage of surface oxygen atoms in the EOG- and autoclave-sterilization groups were significantly higher. SEM images were similar. Conclusion: The results of this study show that glass-fiber posts can be sterilized either by autoclave or EOG when necessary, without any negative effect on bond strength, flexural strength, or elastic modulus.Öğe Effects of abutment materials on the tissues surrounding dental implants immediately after loading: An in vivo study(2021) Gül, İlkay; Zortuk, Mustafa; Öztürk, CanerAim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of PEEK abutments,\ran alternative to titanium abutments, with temporary acrylic restorations\rusing immediate loading protocol on the marginal bone loss and periimplant tissues.\rMethodology: This study was performed with temporary restorations\rusing 32 titanium and PEEK abutments (14 titanium and 18 PEEK) on 32\rimplants performed on 21 patients (13 females, 8 males). Before surgical\rplacement of the implants, intraoral and radiographic examinations were\rperformed. The patients were divided into two groups as titanium\rabutment group (Grup Ti) and PEEK abutment group (Grup PEEK). In both\rgroups, all implants were placed according to the manufacturer's\rrecommendations. After surgery, impressions were taken using polyvinyl\rsiloxane impression material and closed tray impression technique. The\rgingiva, which is thought to be formed on the model, was scraped and\rscrewed onto the appropriate titanium or PEEK abutment analogue\raccording to the groups and temporary restoration was prepared and\rapplied on the implant.\rResults: The results of the statistical analysis show that abutment types\rhave no significant effect on ISQ values (p>0.05), but the diameter of the\rimplant significantly affected ISQ values independently from abutment\rtype (p<0.05). Less marginal bone loss was observed in the PEEK abutment\rgroup compared to the titanium abutment group (p<005), and similar\rresults were obtained in both groups in terms of periodontal scores\r(p>0.05).\rConclusion: Within the limitations of this study, there was less bone loss\rin the PEEK abutment group (p<0.05). There was no difference between\rPEEK and titanium abutments in terms of ISQ values and clinical\revaluations (p>0.05).\rÖğe Implementation of a prosthetic labelling process in implant-supported fixed prosthesis and comparison of two different methods: an in vitro study(Int Assoc Law & Forensic Sciences, 2018) Akbaba, Hasan; Zortuk, Mustafa; Albayrak, HaydarBackground: This study is to compare the two different techniques used in the labeling of implant-based fixed prostheses, using the square code and using microchip labeling techniques, taking into account the properties of an ideal prosthetic labeling technique. Sixty implants fixed prostheses were produced, 30 for each group. Square codes were created on the lingual bands of implants fixed prostheses which are the samples of the group that were labelled by using square code, and microchips were placed in the implant abutments of the samples in the group that were labelled with the microchip. Results: The thermal cycle test was used to compare the long-life cycle of the samples, and no deformation was found. A survey attended by 51 dentists was created to evaluate the techniques' effects on their aesthetic appeal and their application. The data found was statistically evaluated, and the result was statistically insignificant (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Microchips data storage capacity was found more successful; however, according to their resistance to heat and their costs, the square code, was more advantageous.Öğe Production of a Piece of Custom-Made Abutment Screwdriver: Technique and Case Report(Allen Press Inc, 2019) Kocaagaoglu, Hasan; Albayrak, Haydar; Tasdemir, Zekeriya; Sahin, Sezgi Cinel; Zortuk, MustafaCrown fractures, framework fractures, and abutment screw loosening or screw fracture are examples of mechanical implant failures. Abutment screw loosening is a serious problem that can result in abutment screw fractures. This clinical report describes the production method of a custom-made abutment screwdriver piece for a patient with abutment screw loosening.Öğe Vidalı ve simante implant üstü sabit restorasyonlarda stres dağılımının karşılaştırılması: sonlu elemanlar analizi çalışması(Türkiye Klinikleri, 2018) Tuzlalı, Mesut; Öztürk, Caner; Zortuk, Mustafaİmplant üstü restorasyonlar simante ve vidalı olarak tasarlanabilmektedir. Sonlu elemanlar analizi yöntemi (SEA) ile simante ve vidalı implant üstü restorasyonlarda periimplant bölgedeki kortikal ve spogiöz kemikte, implant ve abutmentlarda oluşan stres dağılımını incelemektir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bilgisayar destekli tasarım yazılımı kullanılarak, tek üye seramik restorasyonlu iki çalışma modeli tasarlandı. Üç boyutlu kemik içerisine implant yerleştirildi, simante ve vidalı olmak üzere iki farklı abutment tasarımı yapıldı. İmplantın çevresinde en az 1 mm trabeküler kemik olacak şekilde ve çene kemiğinin etrafında kortikal kemik kalınlığı 2 mm olacak şekilde modellendi. Abutment yükselikleri simante tasarımda 4 mm ve vidalı tasarımda ise 1 mm olarak modellendi. İmplant ve abutmentlar vida aracılığıyla birbirine bağlandı. Abutmentlar üzerine mandibuler birinci büyük azı diş monolitik zirkonya kron tasarımı basit bir şekilde modellendi ve 300 N’luk oklüzal kuvvetin uygulanacağı distal üçgensel fossaya denk gelen bölgesi her iki kron tipinde de aynı bölgede olacak şekilde belirlendi. Tüm modeller ağ oluşturma ve stres analizi için SEA yazılımına aktarıldı. Bulgular: Maksimum asal gerilme değerlerinin vidalı sistemlerde büyük (34,7 MPa), minimum asal gerilme değerlerinin ise simante sistemlerde büyük olduğu görülmüştür (104,7 MPa). Boyutları 10 x 10 x 2mm olan toplam 72 adet kare şeklinde zirkonya örnek ve silindir şeklinde resin siman örnekler elde edilmiştir. Örnekler 6 gruba ayrıldı (n=12).Grup 1; yüzey işlemi uygulanmadı. Grup 2; 110 ?’luk Al2O3kumu ile pürüzlendirildi. Grup 3; 110 ?’lukAl2O3kumu ile pürüzlendirildikten sonra30? (Al2O3)silika kaplandı ve silan uygulanandı. Grup 4; çift kat Zirconia Primer uygulandı. Grup 5; Nd: YAG lazer cihazı kullanılarak pürüzlendirildi. Cihazın paneli 20 Hz, 100mJ, 2W, 100?s olacak şekilde ayarlandı. Grup 6; cihaz paneli 20 Hz, 150mJ 3W 100?s olacak şekilde ayarlarak Nd: YAG lazer ile pürüzlendirildi. Rezin siman silindirler, yüzey işlemi uygulanmış zirkonya örneklere simante edildi. Örnekler 2 hafta distile suda bekletildikten sonra termal döngü cihazında, 5-55 ºC’de, 6000 döngü uygulandı. Örnekler makaslama testine tabi tutuldu. Bağlanma değeri verileri tek yönlü varyans analizi ve Duncan testi kullanılarak analiz edildi (a=.05). Her grubun ortalamaları tek yönlü varyans analizi ile değerlendirildi. Buna göre en yüksek değerler Grup 3’te bulunmuş, bunu Grup 6 takip etmiştir. En düşük değer ise Grup 1’de bulunmuştur. Örnekler taramalı elektron mikroskobunda (SEM) ve Atomik kuvvet mikroskobunda (AFM) incelenmiş, profilometre cihazında pürüzlülük değerleri ölçülmüştür.
