Rectal prolapse is defined as the protrusion of the rectum from the mucosa of the anal canal. The etiology is not well known. There has been a wide spectrum of operations for treatment. Bleeding, perforation, incarceration, ischemia, necrosis and sepsis are rare fatal conditions which may require emergent surgery. In each case type of operation is decided on patients' base individually. We present an irreducible rectal prolapsus which caused perforation while trying to be reduced and thus taken under urgent surgery within the light of the literature.en_US
