Abstract
The complete controlled reproduction in penaeids covers maturation, spawning and hatching of eggs into viable larvae and the production of post-larvae to constitute the next batch of brood stock. The present review summarizes the studies which were made on Green tiger shrimp fisheried commercially in Eastern Mediterranean and being an important species economically. All studies were made in the Yumurtalik marine Research Station of the Faculty of Fisheries, University of Cukurova. The present review focus on catching off the broodstock from the nature, maturation in captivity, techniques in inducing gonadal maturation in captivity, techniques in inducing gonadal maturation, spawning, incubation of eggs, larvi culture, tolerance in salinity and temperature during culture period, PL production, PL culture in earthen concrete and fiberglass tanks, wintering of the juveniles. In addition, relating problems occurred in this process were also discussed.
