Özet
Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) was found as a new pest in some locations of the southeastern Anatolia, Turkey, especially, in Birecik, Siverek, Akgakale and Harran regions of Sanliurfa province, and Samsat, Hasankendi and the locations surrounding of Adiyaman province. F occidentalis has distributed mainly over medicago and lentil fields, and it was found also in the wheat-fields with Sinapis arvensis (Linneaus). In order to distinguish the new pest from the old one, Thrips tabaci Lindeman, and from the close species, Frankliniella intonsa (Trybom), an identification key was provided. Distribution, number and collection area of F occidentalis and Thripidae spp. were given.
