Özet

The objective of this study was to evaluate the early production of several strawberry cultivars (‘Sweet Charlie’, ‘Seascape’, ‘Dorit’, ‘Camarosa’, ‘Pajaro’, ‘Chandler’, ‘Muir’) grown on sand dunes under a plastic house by using fresh runner plants rooted in pots. Growing strawberries on sand dunes with this system under a plastic house gave very promising results not only for precocity but also for yield and quality. The first fruits appeared at the beginning of December from ‘Sweet Charlie’. The highest early yield was obtained from ‘Sweet Charlie’ (77 g·plant-1). The highest total yield was obtained from ‘Camarosa’ (734 g·plant-1), followed by ‘Pajaro’ (691 g·plant-1) and ‘Seascape’ (671g·plant-1). © 2003 by The Haworth Press, Inc. All rights reserved.
