Fourteen chickpea cultivars were tested for grain yield in Çukurova ecological conditions, over a period of five consecutive years to classify tehese cultivars for yield stability. Some variety were performed better in favorable climatic conditions, while other were very sensitive to unfavorable conditions. FLIP 85-1C, FLIP 85-14C. FLIP 85-15C and FLIP 85-135C had regression coefficients of 1.231, 1,138, 1.185 and 1,382 respectively. These cultivars were thus considered to be specificaly adapted to favorable environments. FLIP 84-17C. FLIP 84-18C. FLIP 85-56C. FLIP 85-60C had regression coefficients of less than one, indicating specific adaptation to unfavorable environments. The remeander of the cultivars (FLIP 84-19C, FLIP 85-4C, FLIP 85-16C, FLIP 85-46C, FLIP 85-55C) had regression coefficients close to one. These cultivars were best adapted to all environments. Of the high yielding cultivars FLIP 85-14C were rather sensitive to changing environment. FLIP 85-15C were responsive to high yielding environment and FLIP 85-55C was relatively more stable than the rest of the cultivars.en_US
