Özet
Chronic eczematous external otitis is often seen in older women, and constant itching outer ear. The inlet part of the external auditory canal red, scaly, dry, and often there is no serumen the remaining parts of the canal. Eighty-year-old male patient with chronic eczematous external otitis due to topical clobetasol propionate were using for nearly 20 years. In the patient's examination, the left auricle is slightly faded and from the external ear canal cartilage instead of bone union was observed ranging from a cavity. Tympanic membrane was normal but pointed out that a slight atrophy of the bone parts of the external ear canal. In this article we will discuss with patients the side effects of long term use of topical steroids.
