dc.description.abstractObjectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate results of anterior surface incision of antihelix, suturation and conchal cartilage resection for prominent ear. Methods: Seven ears of four patients were included into the study who were operated between 2004 and 2006. The formation of antihelix was obtained with incision techniques whereas suturation is used for stabilization. Conchal hypertrophia was corrected with cartilage resection. The evaluation of the results was achieved with preoperative and postoperative photographs. Results: Antihelix development failure was seen in three ears whereas conchal wideness or deep conchal bowl causes additional problem in four ears. Postoperative hematom was the only complication which was observed in two patients. A pleasant cosmesis was obtained in all patients except one patient in whom the correction of the ears were asymmetric. Conclusion: Anterior cartilage incisions to maintain antihelix and conchal cartilage resection to reduce hypertrophy gives pleasant cosmetic results with reduced complication risks.en_US
