S, caused by HIV, has had not only the most profound effect on human illness and death, but also it ended the developed world's domination over infectious diseases. Since its identification in 1983, no effective way of therapy could be developed. Reverse transcriptase and protease inhibitors and CD-4-based therapies provide some clinical improvements. But none of them brings complete success in AIDS treatment due to poor mode of action, patient factors and serious side effects limiting the application of intense and combination therapies. Despite current situation, blocking the virus before it enters any cell with rCD4 molecules still sounds more attractive than other choices of therapy. So I suggest a new CD-4-based therapy in combination with a helper molecule to make virus be excreted to the urine. © 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.en_US
