Abstract

In this study carried out from August 2001 to July 2002 in Iskenderun Bay was investigated relationships between the water temperature, pH, salinity and oxygen and, the heavy metal concentrations (Cd, Fe, Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, Cr, Al, Mn, Ni) in the suspended particulate material (SPM) in the waters of the bay. Significant effect (negative and positive correlation) were observed between the heavy metal concentrations in the SPM and, temperature, salinity, pH and oxygen concentrations (p<0.05,p<0,01).
