Biyokimyasal analizlerde ise ALT 30 IU/L, ALP 100 IU/L, AST 80 IU/L, GGT 7 IU/L, kolesterol 164mg/dl ve trigliserit 145 mg/dl olarak tespit edildi.Öğe Determination of Serum Oxidative Stress, Antioxidant Capacity and Protein Profiles in Dogs Naturally Infected with Ehrlichia canis(Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH, 2021) Çiftci, Gülay; Pekmezci, Didem; Güzel, Murat; Çenesiz, Sena; Ural, Kerem; Aysul, Nuran; Kazak, FilizPurpose: Canine ehrlichiosis is an important tick-borne disease of dogs worldwide. In the present study, we aimed to determine the serum total antioxidant capacity (TAC), malondialdehyde (MDA), nitric oxide (NO), superoxide dismutase, (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), adenosine deaminase (ADA) activity and serum protein profiles in dogs affected with naturally acquired ehrlichiosis. Methods: The animal materials had been consisted of ten dogs naturally infected with Ehrlichia canis, and ten controls negative for Ehrlichia canis. TAC, MDA, NO, SOD, GSH-Px, ADA activity and TP, ALB, GLOB levels were measured in sera of the animals. The serum protein concentrations were measured by autoanalyzer. The electrophoretic profiles of serum total protein were determined by native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (Native-PAGE). Results: In dogs with ehrlichiosis, decreased TAC (P < 0.05) and GSH-Px (P > 0.05) levels were determined. However, NO (P > 0.05), SOD (P < 0.05), ADA (P > 0.05), MDA (P > 0.05), TP (P < 0.05) and GLO (P < 0.05) levels were found as increased in the Ehrlichia positive dogs. ALB levels were decreased without a statistical significance (P > 0.05). ALB, ?1 and ?2 globulin strip densities were found as decreased in native-PAGE, while ?1 and ? globulin strip densities were significantly increased in the E. canis positive group when compared to the control. Conclusion: It was determined that the oxidative stress decreased high antioxidant activity in dogs naturally infected with E. canis, and consequently, pro-oxidant and antioxidant defense and serum protein profiles were affected. It was thought that antioxidant supplementation could be beneficial to the treatment of the disease. © 2021, Witold Stefa?ski Institute of Parasitology, Polish Academy of Sciences.Öğe Esophageal diverticulum in a cat(2009) Börkü, Mehmet Kazım; Ural, Kerem; Kibar, Murat; Özkanlar, Yunusemre; Güzel, Murat; Cıngı, Cenker ÇağrıA 7-year-old spayed female domestic shorthair cat was presented because of post-prandial regurgitation, gasping shortly after eating, weight loss, dyspnea, and tachypnea. Six months prior to the onset of these signs the cat had received nutritional support via gastrostomy and then nasogastric tubes. A diagnosis of esophageal diverticulum was made on the basis of clinical features, contrast esophagram, and endoscopy, and was considered a complication of tube feeding. Medical therapy, including parenteral fluids, ranitidine, metoclopramide, and cisapride, and a soft, bland low-fat diet resulted in improvement in the clinical signs within 1 week. The cat was discharged and recovery was confirmed by phone call follow-up with the owner.Öğe Kronik erlikiozis'li bir köpekte renal yetmezlik olgusu(2003) Börkü, Mehmet Kazım; Güzel, Murat; Cıngı, Cenker Çağrı; Ural, Kerem; Karakurum, Mehmet ÇağrıBu olgunun materyalini anoreksi, halsizlik, kusma, polidipsi, poliüri, karın altı ve ekstremitelerde peteşi ve melana bulguları olan 4 yaşında, erkek Golden Retriver bir köpek oluşturdu. Anemnezde hastanın kene enfeksiyonuna maruz /çaldıktan sonra, halsizlik, ateş, kilo kaybı, çabuk yorulma, epistakzis şikayetleri ile bir veteriner polikliniğine götürüldüğü, burada E. canis test kiti ile erlikiozis tanısı konulduğu ve hastaya altı hafta süreyle 5mg/kg/gün dozda doksisiklin verildiği, sağaltım durdurulduktan dört hafta sonra yeniden epistakzis, letarji, kusma, aşın kilo kaybı ve genel durumda bozulma olduğu ve üç hafta süreyle sıvı sağaltımı uygulandığı öğrenildi. Hastaya A. Ü. Veteriner Fakültesi İç Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı Kliniğine getirildiğinde klinik, laboratuar ve ultrasonografik bulgulara dayanılarak kronik erlikiozis 'e bağlı kronik renal yetmezlik tanısı konuldu.Öğe Serodiagnosis of bovine neosporosis with immunocomb assay in Ankara Region(2006) Kurtdede, Arif; Küplülü, Şükrü; Ural, Kerem; Cıngı, Cenker Çağrı; Güzel, Murat; Karakurum, Mehmet Çağrı; Haydardedeoğlu, Ali EvrenSerodiagnosis of bovine neosporosis in 60 cows in Ankara was evaluated by a commercially produced solid phased immunoassay principle, immunocomb. Serum samples were taken from aborted (n=12) and non-aborted (n=48) cows in three different locations of Ankara. Six out of 12 aborted cows (50%) were seropositive by immunocomb (IC) assay indicated that neosporosis may be an important cause of abortions in this region. In conclusion, as a practical note, the IC assay was very simple, easy and quick to use for serological testing and screening of neosporosis both for large and small volume of herds.Öğe Topical retinoic acid in the treatment of feline tail gland hyperplasia (stud tail): A prospective clinical trial(Natl Veterinary Research Inst, 2008) Ural, Kerem; Acar, Abuzer; Guzel, Murat; Karakurum, Mehmet Cagri; Cingi, Cenker CagriThe purpose of this prospective, double-blinded, and placebo-controlled clinical trial was to investigate the efficacy of topical cream, containing 0.1% retinoic acid for the treatment of tail gland hyperplasia in cats. Nineteen privately owned cats diagnosed with tail gland hyperplasia, based on history and clinical findings were randomly assigned to either a placebo or an active ingredient treatment group. Clinical evaluations were done by the same investigator, who scored clinical healing, at the beginning, during, and at the end of the treatment. Both owners and investigators were blinded to the allocation to the groups. It was demonstrated that retinoic acid gel treatment significantly decreased (P<0.05) the investigator's clinical scores while no significant changes were detected in the placebo treatment group. In conclusion, treatment with 0.1% retinoic acid cream was effective for the topical management of tail gland hyperplasia in the cats included in the study.Öğe Use of selamectin for the treatment of psoroptic and sarcoptic mite infestation in rabbits(Wiley, 2007) Kurtdede, Arif; Karaer, Zafer; Acar, Abuzer; Guzel, Murat; Cingi, C. Cagri; Ural, Kerem; Ica, AnilSelamectin, a novel avermectin compound, was evaluated for its efficacy against naturally occurring infestations of Psoroptes cuniculi and Sarcoptes scabiei. A total of 42 New Zealand rabbits with psoroptic mange and 37 Angora rabbits with sarcoptic mange were used in the present study. On day 0, infested rabbits were treated topically with either selamectin at minimum dose of 6 mg kg(-1) (6-18 mg kg(-1) for New Zealand rabbits, n = 31 and 10-12 mg kg(-1) for Angora rabbits, n = 23) or vehicle only (control groups, n = 11 for New Zealand rabbits, n = 14 for Angora rabbits). The efficacy of selamectin was assessed both clinically and parasitologically by the presence or absence of viable mites. Rabbits were scraped for sarcoptic mites on days 7, 14, 28, 42 and 56 and had otoscopeic and/or microscopic examination for the detection of Psoroptes mites on days 7, 14, 42 and 56. Fisher's exact test was used to assess differences between the vehicle and selamectin treatment in the number of rabbits without mites (cure rates) on each assessment date. It was found that significantly fewer selamectin-treated rabbits had mites detected on skin scrapings (for S. scabiei) or otoscopeic and/or microscopic examination (for P. cuniculi) (P < 0.01) than the vehicle group. Results of the present study suggest that selamectin is effective against naturally infestations of P. cuniculi and S. scabiei in rabbits.
