dc.description.abstractBu çalışma, Özel ve Devlet Okullarında öğrenim hayatına devam eden 9-12 yaş grubu ilköğretim öğrencilerinin, rekreasyon faaliyetlerinden beklentileri ve katılımlarının değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmada 1759 ilköğretim öğrencisi gönüllü olarak yer almıştır. Katılımcılar Hatay İli Defne İlçesinde yer alan (3 Özel Okul ve 4 Devlet Okulu ) ilköğretim okullarında öğrenim hayatına devam etmektedir ve tesadüfi yöntemle belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak Soyer (1997) tarafından geliştirilen ve Aydın (2004) tarafından gözden geçirilen "Boş Zaman Değerlendirme ve Beklenti" ölçeği revize edilerek kullanılmıştır. Ölçek çoktan seçmeli 25 sorudan oluşmaktadır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde IBM SPSS 20 Paket Program kullanılmış olup veriler Chi Square yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Çalışma bulgularına göre, yüksek eğitim düzeyine sahip anne ve babaların çocuklarını özel okula gönderme eğilimde oldukları, gerek devlet gerekse de özel okullara giden öğrencilerin boş zamanlarında en çok sportif etkinliklere katıldıkları, özel okula giden öğrencilerin okullardaki rekreatif alanları yeterli buldukları, ancak devlet okullarına gidenlerin yetersiz buldukları, hem özel hem de devlet okullarında düzenli spor yapanların çoğunlukta olduğu ve her iki okul türünde de futbol branşının en yüksek yüzdeyle uğraşıldığı, gerek özel gerek devlet okuluna gidenlerin ailelerinde düzenli spor yapanların sayısının yapmayanlara oranla fazla olduğu gibi sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç olarak rekreatif faaliyetler çocuklarda öz saygı ve özgüvenin gelişmesinde olumlu bir etkiye sahiptir. Dolayısıyla okulların rekreasyon faaliyetlerini öğrencilerin istek ve ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda planlamaları önem arz etmektedir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study was to evaluate the participations and expectations for recreational activities of 9-12 years primary school students in both private and public schools. In this study, 1759 elementary students participated voluntarily. The participants were randomly assigned from the students attending elementary schools in the province of Hatay Defne (3 private and 4 public schools). In the study, "Leisure Time Evaluation and Expectation" scale was used for data collection which was developed by Soyer (1997) and revised by Aydın (2004). The scale consists of 25 questions in multiple choice. Chi square analysis was used to determine the meaningful differences between the participants' answers to the questionnaire. According to the study findings, parents with a higher education tend to send their children to private schools. Students who attend both state and private schools participate in the most sportive activities in their leisure time. The students who attend private schools find the recreational areas adequate in their schools, however, public schools students found it inadequate. The majority of those who exercise regularly tend to prefer playing football branch in both school types. The number of those who exercise regularly was higher than those who do not for both schools according to family members. As a result, recreational activities have a positive effect on the development of self-esteem and self-confidence in children. Therefore, it is important that curriculum managers of the schools need to plan their recreation activities in accordance with the wishes and needs of the students.en_US
