dc.description.abstractKumlu İlçesi Akdeniz Bölgesi'nin Adana Bölümün de Hatay İl sınırları içinde yer almaktadır. Kumlu da ortalama yükselti yaklaşık 91 metredir. 186 km² yüzölçümüne sahip 13 kırsal mahallesi bulunan İlçe'nin 3 tane de merkez mahallesi bulunmaktadır. Toplam Nüfus 13.328 kişidir. Kumlu İlçesi yerleşme alanı olarak Amik Ovası‟nın ortasında, verimli alüvyal araziler üzerinde kurulmuştur. Bu nedenle de en önemli geçim kaynağı tarımdır. Kumlu sınırları içerisinde Afrin Çayı, Akkuyu Kanalı ve Muratpaşa Çayı'nın kolları yer almaktadır. Hamamat Kaplıcası, fay zonu üzerinde yer almakta ve yörenin tek turistik tesisini oluşturmaktadır. Akdeniz iklim özellikleri görülmektedir. Kumlu‟da ormanlık alan yoktur. Zeytinlik ve meyve bahçeleri vardır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Kumlu İlçesinin Fiziki, Beşeri ve Ekonomik özellikleriyle İlçe‟nin potansiyelini ortaya çıkarmak ve sorunlara çözüm önerileri sunmaktır. Çalışmada, ilgili kurum ve kuruluşlarında temin edilen veriler (TUİK, Fiziki ve Beşeri Haritalar, Arazi Araştırmaları, vb.) değerlendirilerek analiz edilmiştir. Kumlu ilçesine ait tüm haritalar arazi gözlemlerinden yararlanarak çizilmiştir. Araştırma sahasında ortaya çıkan temel sorunlar arasında yatırım eksikliği ve idari sınır problemi gelmektedir. İlçede tarım gelişmiş olmakla birlikte, tarıma dayalı sanayi ve ticaret yeteri kadar gelişmemiştir. Ayrıca Kırıkhan ve Reyhanlı kadar olmasa da Suriyeli sığınmacıların oluşturabileceği eğitim, güvenlik, sağlık, sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik anlamda sıkıntılar, Kumlu‟da zamanla bir takım sorunları ortaya çıkaracaktır.Araştırmamızda tespit edilen problemlere çözüm önerileri sunulmaktadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractKumlu is located in Hatay Province, in the Adana Part of the Mediterrenean Region. The average altitude is 91 metres in Kumlu. Kumlu, with its 186 km2 acreage and rural districts, also has 3 central districs. The total population is 13328. The town Kumlu, as a settlement area, is located in the middle of Amik Plain, on the fertile alluvial lands. Therefore, the most important source of income is agriculture. Afrin Creek, Akkuyu Canal and Muratpaşa Creek are in the borders of Kumlu. Hamamat Thermal Spring is on the faulting zone and the only touristic site of the region. We see mediterranean climate characteristics here. There is no forestland in Kumlu. There are olive groves and fruit gardens. The purpose of this study is revealing the potential of the town Kumlu with its physical, humane and economical characteristicsand presenting solution offers to the issues. In the study, the data provided by related institutions and organizations (TUIK, Physical and Humane Maps, Land Researches, etc.) were evaluated and analysed. All the maps of Kumlu were drawn by the help of land observations. The main problems that arise in the field of research are the lack of investment and the administrative boundary problem.Although agriculture is developed in the district, agriculture-based industry and trade has not developed sufficiently. Besides, even if it is not as much as Kırıkhan and Reyhanlı, the problems of education, security, health, socio-cultural and economic problems that maybe created by Syrian asylum seekers will reveal some problems in Kumlu over time.
