dc.description.abstractMacedonia was left to the Ottoman Empire on the condition that reforms were made by the Berlin Treaty of 13 July 1878, which was signed in place of the Treaty of San Stefano after the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878. Macedonia became a very hot issue for the Ottoman Empire as a problem that became chronic with the interventions of the Balkan and European states. Migration is one of the factors that should not be ignored when examining the conditions in Macedonia at the beginning of the 20th century. It was common for people in Macedonia to leave for countries including Bulgaria, Serbia, Romania and Austria due to unemployment. The main problem was migration of the young population to the North America after the Ilinden Uprising. Migration, which started at the beginning of the 20th century due to financial difficulties, exhibited an increasing trend following the Ilinden Uprising. It is estimated that 75,000 people migrate from Macedonian provinces to America between 1900 and 1908. Migration has had certain economic, social and political implications for Macedonia. This study will focus on migration from Macedonian provinces (Thessaloniki, Manastir, Kosovo) to America and its implications.en_US
