Özet
This study, carried out at the Directorate of Alata Horticultural Research Institute, compared the effect of classical fertilizer and new generation fertilizer applications on cold storage of ‘Owari Satsuma’ mandarin. ‘Owari Satsuma’ mandarin fruits, where classical fertilizers and new generation fertilizers were applied, were harvested at optimum maturity (when 75% of the fruit peel turns yellow-orange), were stored at 4(±0.5)°C and 85-90% relative humidity 75 days. Analysis was done every 15 days during storage. Physical and chemical changes (weight losses, total soluble solids, pH, titratable acidity, fruit skin color (L*, C* and hue value), content of juice and fungal disorders were determined during storage. According to the findings, in storage mandarins, the average weight loss was determined as 8.42% in 2017 and 5.47% in 2018 in the control application, 8.18% in 2017 and 5.93% in 2018 in the new generation fertilizer application. There was no significant difference between the effects of classical fertilizer and new generation fertilizer applications on the preservation of ‘Owari Satsuma’ mandarin in the cold. © 2024 International Society for Horticultural Science.
