| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma, ilköğretim 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin harita kullanma düzeylerinin ve harita kullanımına ilişkin öğretmen görüşlerinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmış tarama modelinde betimsel bir araştırmadır. Bu çalışmada sosyal bilgiler, coğrafya, görsel materyaller, beceri, sosyal bilgilerde beceri, harita kullanma becerileri hakkında temel bilgiler verilmiştir. Çalışmada, coğrafya öğretiminde en fazla kullanma olanağına sahip görsel materyallerden haritalara ve harita kullanmanın önemine değinilmiştir.Araştırmanın örneklemini, 2006- 2007 öğretim yılı Hatay ili Antakya merkezindeki 42 merkez ve merkez köy ilköğretim okullarında 821 6. sınıf öğrencisi ile Hatay ili Antakya merkezindeki 50 merkez ve merkez köy ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan 60 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır.Veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacı tarafından bilgi ve beceri başarı testi geliştirilmiştir. Bilgi başarı testi 6. sınıf sosyal bilgiler programındaki kazanımlar dikkate alınarak geliştirilmiştir. Beceri başarı testi McClure tarafından belirlenen harita kullanım becerileri dikkate alınarak hazırlanmıştır. Sosyal bilgiler dersi öğretmenlerinin öğrencilerin harita kullanımları hakkındaki görüşlerini almak için araştırmacı tarafından anket hazırlanmıştır. Toplanan verilerin analizi için SPSS 11.0 istatistik paket programı kullanılmıştır.Araştırmanın sonunda bilgi ve beceri başarı testi arasındaki anlamlı farklılığa bakılmıştır. | dc.description.abstract | This is a descriptive survey study about the evaluation of the map using skills of elementary school students and their teacher´s thoughts about their map using skills. The survey is done by giving basic knowledge about social studies, geography, visual materials, skills, skills about social studies, and map using skills. The importance of using visual materials is supported while learning geography and the maps which provide the most usage area of visual materials are favored through the study and their role in the education is mentioned.The sample group of this study is composed of the 2006-2007 schooling term, 6th grade students of the schools around the Hatay province and also the students in the rural areas of Hatay. Within this boundries, 50 elemantary schools are selected by using the rational sampling grouping method. From the 6th grade students, 821 students are selected who have had the all exams and also 60 teachers are selected who are social studies lecturers to form the sample group.As a tool of accumulating data, knowledge scanning test and skill scanning test are developed by the researcher. While developing the knowledge test the subjects which are expected from a 6th grade student who learns social studies, are taken into aspect. In the process of developing the skill scanning test, the skills about map using defined by McClure are taken into aspect. To get data from teachers, a survey about their thoughts regarding the knowledge of map using is implemented. In the analysis of research data SPPS 11.0 Statistics Packet Program is used.At the end of the research the results of the knowledge scanning test and the skill scanning test are compared to see if there was a meaningful difference between those two.
