| dc.description.abstract | Antakya şehri Türkiye'nin güneyinde yer alan Hatay ilinin önemli şehirlerinden biridir. Coğrafi açıdan sahip olduğu avantajlardan dolayı şehir, tarihin her döneminde çok sayıda medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Antakya şehir nüfusu, Hatay'ın anavatana katılmasından sonra 1940 yılından günümüze kadar sürekli olarak artmıştır. Nüfus artış hızının en yavaş olduğu dönemler 1940-1945 ile 1990-2000 yılları arasındaki dönemdir. Nüfusun en hızlı şekilde artış gösterdiği dönemler ise 1950-1965, 1975-1980 ve 2000-2013 yıllarını kapsayan dönemlerdir. Nüfus artış hızlarındaki bu değişimlerin temel sebepleri kırdan kente göçlerin artması, sanayi tesislerin yoğunluk kazanması, şehrin sunduğu hizmetlerdeki artışlar ve idari yapıda meydana gelen değişimlerdir.1950'li yıllarda özellikle göçlerle birlikte hız kazanan şehirleşme hareketleri sonucunda şehirsel fonksiyonlar gelişmiş ve çeşitlilik göstermiştir. Sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik amaçlara hizmet eden tesislerin artmasıyla şehir mekânsal açıdan hızla gelişmiştir. Antakya'nın stratejik konumu ve önemli ulaşım yolları üzerinde bulunması kuruluşundan günümüze kadar tarihi ticaret merkezi olarak varlığını sürdürmesini sağlamıştır. Hatay'ın büyükşehir statüsü kazanmış olması, yatırımların daha da artmasını sağlayacaktır. Bu nedenle Antakya şehri, merkezi yönetim anlayışıyla daha düzenli bir mekânsal gelişim gösterecektir. Nüfusun miktar ve nitelik açısından gelişmesiyle birlikte Antakya bölgesel ve ulusal anlamda en önemli şehirlerden biri olacaktır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Antioch City located in the south of Turkey is one of the most important cities of Hatay province. The City has hosted many civilizations in every period of history due to its geographical advantages. Antioch City population has continuously increased from 1940, when Hatay joined to the homeland, to today. Periods in which the population growth rate were the slowest are periods between 1940-1945 and 1990-2000. The periods where the population increased most rapidly are the periods covering 1950-1965, 1795-1980 and 2000-2013. The main reasons for these changes in the population growth rate are the increasing in the migrations from rural areas to urbans, intensity of industrial facilities, the rising of the services offered by the city and changes occuring in the administrative structure. Urban functions improved and diversified as a result of urbanizations accelerated especially due to migrations in the 1950s. The city rapidly developed spatially thanks to increasing in social, cultural and economic facilities. The strategic location of Antioch and its locating on important transport routes have provided that this city has maintained its existence as a historical trade center from establisment until today. Investments in Hatay will increase due to it's metropolitan status. Because of this, Antioch city will show a more regular spatial development thanks to the central management approach. Antioch will be one of the most important cities regionally and nationally with the development of the population in terms of quantity and quality. | en_US |
