In this study, N-substituted pyrrole derivates were synthesized with two different methods which are traditional heating and microwave-assisted. To determine the optimum conditions for synthesis N-substituted pyrrole aniline was used as amine. First the method specifed in the literature was applied. For this applying aniline and 2,5-dimethyltetrafuran were heated in the presence of water and acetic acid. The reaction was applied with using different Lewis acids and the Lewis acid was determined which has given the highest reaction yield. The reaction was carried out in different solvents, with the Lewis acid which has given the highest reaction yield. For microwave synthesis method optimum reaction contidions were determined with applying different reaction times, different power values (50, 100, 250, 400 W), different Lewis acids and different solvents. For both methods, N-substituted pyrrole was synthesized in the optimum conditions by using 2,6-dimethyl aniline, 2-hydroxy aniline, o-anisidine and 2-chloroaniline.It has been determined that for pyrrole synthesis microwave assisted methods are more appropriate than traditional methods. In the microwave-assisted pyrrole synthesis method was realized more quickly and more efficiently when it compared with traditional methods. Also it has been determined that by-product formation is lower than traditional methods.
