The purpose of the present study was to examine university students' self-confidence, academic self-concept, and academic self-efficacy perceptions in relation to their sportive leisure time evaluation styles. The study was designed using the quantitative research paradigm and the relational screening model. 266 students from the School of Physical Education and Sports at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University participated in the study. Participants were determined by simple random sampling and volunteered to participate in the study. The self-confidence scale, the academic self-concept subscale, the academic self-efficacy scale, and the personal information form were used to collect data for the study. The SPSS 23.0 package program was utilized for data analysis. In addition to descriptive analyses such as percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, kurtosis, and skewness, one-way analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analyses were applied at a 95% confidence interval (α=0.05) for the data analysis. According to the findings, 10.6% (n=28) of the participants do not participate in any recreational sports. In contrast, 23.8% of participants (n=63) engage in sporting activities only as spectators during their leisure time. While 24.9% (n=66) of the participants actively engage in sporting activities during their leisure time, 40.8% (n=108) both actively engage in and observe sporting events during their leisure time. In addition, significant differences were found between the participants' self-confidence, academic self-concept, and academic self-efficacy based on their leisure time sportive activity evaluation styles, as well as moderate- and high-level positive correlations between the concepts. As a result, the present study revealed that university students' participation in recreational sports had a positive effect on their self-confidence, academic self-concept, and academic self-efficacy.
