dc.description.abstractHatay'da göreve başladığı 19 Ağustos 1991'de kamuoyuna ilk verdiği mesaj ' Hatay gücünün farkında olmayan bir dev' mesajıydı.Hatay'ın yirmi beşinci valisi olarak göreve başladığı günden itibaren hizmet verdiği süre içerisinde toplumun her kesimiyle iyi bir diyalog kurmuştur. Hatay valiliğinden önce 1971-1974 yıllarında Hatay'ın Samandağ ilçesinde kaymakamlık görevinde bulunmuştur.Bu sebeple Hatay'ın ve Hatay halkının sorunlarını yakından bilmesi, valilik sürecinde bu tecrübe ve birikimlerden faydalanmasını sağlamıştır. Mustafa Kemal Üniversitesi'nin temellerini atan Utku Acun hem Hatay genelinde hem de Türkiye'nin birçok şehrinde yaptığı hizmetlerle uzun süre anılacaktır.
