This study was conducted in 2021 to determine the agricultural and technological characteristics of the cotton plant under main and second crop growing conditions. The experiment related to the study was carried out in split plot trial design with three replications under the conditions of the Amik Plain. The experiment was arranged so that the planting times were placed on the main plots and the varieties were placed on the sub-plots. As a result of the study, it was determined that sowing time caused statistically significant difference at 1% level in terms of number of monopodial branch, the number of boll, ginning turnout, seedcotton yield, fiber yield and fiber elongation. It also caused significant difference in number of sympodial branch, seedcotton weight per boll, 100 seed weight, fiber length and fiber fineness at 5% level. On the other hand, it was determined that the varieties caused significant differences at 1% in terms of ginning turnout, fiber strength and short fiber content, but also it caused significant difference on number of monopodial branch, number of sympodial branch, fiber elongation, spinning consistency index and fiber reflectance at 5%. Furthermore, it was determined that sowing time x varieties interaction caused significant differences on fiber length at the level of 5%. According to the findings obtained, it was determined that due to the shortened vegetation period in the second crop growing conditions, the rate of opening the boll decreased and accordingly the yield decreased significantly. On the other hand, it was determined that generally better fiber quality property values were obtained under second crop growing conditions.
