Özet
Tez, materyal ve yöntem olmak üzere iki kısımdan oluşmaktadır. Tezin materyal kısmında, matrisler için ?özdeğer? ve ?özvektör? kavramları, bu kavramlar üzerine hesaplamalar, bazı kuadratik form kavramları, kuadratik formların matrissel gösterimleri, geometrileri, pozitifliği, köşegenleştirilmeleri, karesel matrisler için ?değerler cismi? ve ?sayısal görüntü (sayısal bölge)? kavramları incelenmiştir. Tezin yöntem kısmında üç bant matrislerin ve beş bant matrislerin değerler cisimleri ve sayısal görüntüleri (veya sayısal bölgeleri) elde edilmiştir.
Thesis has consisted of two parts which are named as material and method. In the part of material, it has been examined the "eigenvalue" and "eigenvectors" concepts for matrices, the calculations on these concepts, some quadratic form concepts, the general matix forms, the geometry, the positivity, the diagonalization of quadratic forms, the ?field of values? and ?numerical range (numerical domain)? concepts for matrices. In the part of method,the ?field of values? and ?numerical range (numerical domain)? of the tridiagonal matrices and the ?field of values? and ?numerical range (numerical domain)? of the pentadiagonal matrices have been obtained.
