dc.description.abstractYeryüzünde var olan canlı ve cansız her şey bir ad ile nitelendirilir. Bu nitelendirme ile adlar, zihinlerde yer eder ve diğer varlık ve nesnelerden farklılaşır. Farklılık ise varlık ve nesnelere birer kimlik yaratmıştır. Yer adları, toplulukların tarih akışı içinde sahip oldukları maddi ve manevi değerler içerisinde kültürel niteliklerin hepsini bünyesinde barındıran unsurlar arasındadır. Ayrıca bir toprağı vatan yapan önemli ögelerden bir tanesidir. Bu sebeple bazı araştırmacılar yer adlarını ''toprağın dili'' ifadesiyle tanımlamaktadır. ''Yedi dil yedi millet'' olarak nitelendirilen Hatay, pek çok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmıştır. Stratejik konumu, tarihi ve kültürel zenginliği ile geçmişten günümüze önemli yerleşim merkezlerinden biri olmuştur. Hatay'ın en güneyinde bulunan Yayladağı, Türkmen nüfusu en yoğun olan ilçelerinden biridir. Ayrıca sınır komşusu olan Suriye ile ticaret ve evlilik gibi ilişkiler de kurmuşlardır. Bu sebeple dil ve kültür bağlamında etkileşimler olmuştur. Bu çalışmada Yayladağı merkez ve 28 mahallesine ait yer adlarını oluşturan yaklaşık 1800 civarında cadde, sokak, küme ev, mevki, dağ-tepe, ören yeri, çeşme, pınar vb. yer adları köken, yapı ve anlam bakımından incelenmiştir. Neticede yer adlarının veriliş sebeplerinde en çok kişi adları ve coğrafi terim niteliğindeki kavramların tercih edildiği görülmüştür. Yer adlarının yapı bakımından incelemesinde ise çoğunluğun kelime grubu şeklinde oluşturulduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ad vermede ekseriyetle Türkçe kelimeler tercih edilmiştir. Türkçe kelimelerden sonra en çok Arapça ve Farsça kökenli kelimeler kullanılmıştır. Çalışma ile toponomi sahasına katkıda bulunmak istenilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractEverything living and non-living on earth is characterized by a name. With this characterization, names take place in the minds and differentiate from other beings and objects. Difference, on the other hand, has created an identity for beings and objects. Place names are among the elements that contain all cultural qualities within the material and spiritual values that communities have in the course of history. It is also one of the important elements that make a land a homeland. For this reason, some researchers define place names with the expression "the language of the land". Hatay, which is described as "seven languages and seven nations", has been home to many civilizations. With its strategic location, historical and cultural richness, it has been one of the most important settlement centers from past to present. Yayladağı, located in the southernmost part of Hatay, is one of the districts with the highest Turkmen population. They have also established relations such as trade and marriage with neighboring Syria. For this reason, there have been interactions in the context of language and culture. In this study, approximately 1800 place names such as streets, alleys, cluster houses, locations, mountains, hills, ruins, fountains, springs, etc. belonging to Yayladağı center and 28 neighborhoods were examined in terms of origin, structure and meaning. As a result, it was observed that the most preferred reasons for the place names were personal names and geographical terms. In the analysis of place names in terms of structure, it was determined that the majority were formed as word groups. Turkish words were mostly preferred in naming. After Turkish words, words of Arabic and Persian origin were mostly used. With study, it is wanted to contribute to the field of toponomy.en_US
