Organizations are formed with a specific purpose and objectives. In order to achieve these goals and objectives, they must continuously process information. Organizational memory occurs as a result of organizations' processing information. This thesis attempts to identify the factors that nourish and prevent organizational memory that has developed in organizations. In line with the aim of the study, knowledge management and transformational and transactional leadership have been dealt with as nourishing factors. Organizational constraints and organizational conflict have been dealt with as preventing factors. The aimed model was tested with structural equation model by using pre-developed, valid, and reliable scales. The population of the thesis consists of employees who are working in education, manufacturing and health sectors that operate in Hatay. Randomized sampling was administered to the employees in two private enterprises purposefully elected in each sector. The data were collected by using the questionnaire technique, and firstly the validity and reliability tests of the scales were applied, and then the model was tested. The analyses revealed that organizational conflict did not affect the organizational memory whereas knowledge management, leadership and organizational constraints positively affected the organizational memory. Moreover, among control variables, only age was found to affect organizational memory negatively. On sectoral basis, it was found that knowledge management had the greatest impact on organizational memory in the health sector. Interactional leadership had the greatest impact in the education sector. Transformational leadership, on the other hand, had the greatest impact in manufacturing sector. In spite of these differences, in the analysis conducted to determine whether the sectorial differences are statistically significant, it has been found that there is no difference between the models on the basis of sector and individual pathways.
