dc.description.abstractThe subject of the study is a mosque with no inscription, and the construction date is unknown. The structure, with a rectangular plan and a wooden ceiling, has survived to the present day with some additions and repairs. The walls of the prayer hall, raised above the mihrab level, have windows added to them. The minaret, located independently of the structure, dates back to 1960. Through detailed examinations at the foundation level of the mosque, some findings suggest that it was the original prayer hall. It is believed that the current mosque was constructed based on the foundation of this prayer hall, which suffered significant damage in a fire in the 1930s. Additionally, the decorative elements on the entrance arch of the current prayer hall must have been removed from the original entrance and placed here. These decorations are significant ornamental features of the rather simple mosque, featuring commonly used motifs in Turkish-Islamic art such as the Seal of Solomon and the wheel of fortune. The minaret of the mosque, restored by the General Directorate of Foundations in 2018, collapsed from the body section during the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023. However, the main structure remains intact. It is anticipated that the observations made at the foundation level of the mosque will contribute to understanding the architectural evolution and dating of the structure.
