Özet
Dünya'da ve Türkiye'de yetiştirilen en önemli tahıllardan biride pirinç'tir. Türkiye'nin iklim ve toprak koşulları bu bitkinin yetiştirilmesine uygundur. Pirinç ülkemizde daha çok yaz aylarında ve sulamalı olarak yetiştirilir. Bu çalışmada pirincin, Dünya'daki ve Türkiye'deki durumu açıklanmış ve ülke çapında önemli bir üretim merkezi olan Gönen ovasındaki durumu ortaya konmuştur. Bu ovada pirincin yetiştirilmesinden pazarlanmasına kadar olan dönemde yapılanlar belirtilmiştir. Sonunda bu ova açısından pirincin önemi ortaya çıkarılmıştır.
