Özet

In this study, in order to combine more than one feature in a single material structure, a natural polymer sodium alginate (Na-Alg) and phenolic compound Tannic acid (TA) were combined and cross-linked with a natural compound citric acid (CA). The basis of this study is to rapidly prepare hydrogel beads from Na-Alg/TA by dropping a small organic molecule into citric acid as a crosslinking agent instead of traditional divalent metal salts such as CaCl2. Primarily, an alginate complex containing various ratios of TA was prepared. Then, alginate/TA/CA (ATC) spheres were synthesized using an ionotropic method by dripping this mixture into the CA solution. Hydrogel spheres prepared by CA crosslinking the TA/alginate complex are based on strong hydrogen bond interaction. The synthesized hydrogel beads were characterized by various methods (ATR-FTIR, XRD, SEM, TGA, and DSC) and the importance of TA incorporation into the structure was explained. The release of phenolic compound from the spheres in SIF and SGF medium was investigated. Encapsulation of TA in suitable polymeric material and studying its release are an important work for curative medicine and tissue engineering. This new material will provide a new insight for the preparation of multifunctional biocomposite spheres with antimicrobial properties, and good swelling behavior.
