dc.description.abstractBu çalışmanın amacı, Fen Teknoloji Mühendislik Matematik (FeTeMM) uygulamalarının ortaokul 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin Fen Bilimleri dersi "Madde ve Isı" ünitesinin öğretiminde akademik başarı ve problem çözme becerilerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma ön-test son-test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen modelinde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini uygun örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen Hatay'ın Kumlu ilçesine bağlı bir ortaokulun 6. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Madde ve Isı ünitesi deney grubuna FeTeMM uygulamalarına göre hazırlanan ders planıyla, kontrol grubuna ise müfredatın öngördüğü eğitim programı ile uygulanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak her iki gruba uygulama öncesi ve sonrası "Madde ve Isı Başarı Testi" (MIBT) ve "Problem Çözme Envanteri" (PÇE) uygulanmıştır. Uygulama tamamlandıktan sonra deney grubuna "FeTeMM Öğretim Yönteminin Uygulanmasına İlişkin Öğrenci Görüşme Formu" uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler istatistik programı kullanılarak, bu verilere ait ortalama, standart sapma, frekans ve yüzde değerleri betimlemeli istatistikle analiz edilmiştir. Öğrenci görüşme formları nitel veri değerlendirme tekniklerinden içerik analizi tekniği kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, FeteMM uygulamalarının öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve problem çözme becerilerine istatistiksel anlamda farklılık oluşturmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca FeTeMM Eğitimi'ne ilişkin alınan öğrenci görüşlerinden FeTeMM Eğitimi'nin derse karşı ilgiyi arttırdığı, dersin daha eğlenceli geçtiği ve derslerin bu yöntemle işlenmesinin faydalı olacağı sonucuna varılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this study is to examine the effects of Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) applications on academic achievement and problem solving skills in the teaching of 6th grade students in Science course "Matter and Heat" chapter. The study was designed in a semi-experimental pattern model with pre-test post-test control group. The sample of the study is selected by appropriate sampling method from students of 6th graders in a middle school in Kumlu district of Hatay province. The "Matter and Heat" chapter was applied to the experimental group with the lesson plan prepared according to STEM applications and to the control group with the curriculum prescribed in regular program. As a data collection instrument, both groups were applied "Matter and Heat Success Test" (MHST) and "Problem Solving Inventory" (PSI) before and after application.After the process is completed, "Student Interview Form for the Implementation of the Teaching Method of STEM" was conducted in the experimental group. By using an appropriate statistical program for the data, the mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage values are anayzed via decriptive statistics. Student interview forms were evaluated using qualitative data evaluation techniques and content analysis techniques. As a result, it was determined that STEM applications did not make any statistical difference in academic achievement and problem solving skills of students. In addition, from the opinions of students about STEM Education, it was observed that STEM Education increased interest to the lesson, that the lesson was more fun, and that it would be useful to teach the lesson with this method.en_US
