Zararlının konukçusu olarak Avenafatuva L., Avena sterilis L., Bromus sp., Bromus tectorum L., Cichontm intybus L., Conyza sp., Hordeum vulvosum L., Lolium perenne L., Phalaris paradoxa L., Plantago sp., . Sorghum halepense (L.), Zea mays L. tespit edilmiştir.
The experiments were carried out in Adana years 2000-2001. Population fluctuation studies of the cereal leaf beetle, Oulema melanopus carried out in two fields located in Doğankent and Balcali. These fields divided into sub plots, each sub plots was sampled with a standard sweep net taking 25 sweeps, totally 100 sweep samples from each field were taken for sampling of adult pest. Preimaginal stages (larvae and egg) of the pest were sampled by checking 1 meter row wheat plants from 10 different randomly chosen points from each fields and recorded according to its stage. First adults of the pests appeared on 15th March 2000 and 6th February 2001 and disappeared at the end of May and the beginning of June in both years. Population levels of pest in Doğankent were found to be higher than Balcali. Laboratory studies were done at 15 and 20 ± 1°C, 16: 8 L: D photoperiod and 70 ± 5 % RH conditions. Egg, larvae and pupae developmental periods were lasted 6.32 ± 0.06, 21.81 ± 0.79, 30.40 ± 0.22 days at 15 ± 1°C, respectively, while the same periods recorded as 3.44 ± 0.08, 15.50 ±0.28, 19.00 ± 0.25 days at 20 ±1°C. In both laboratory and field studies proved the pest is a univoltine.
