After the social and political opression caused by 1980 Military Coup in Turkey, approximately 30 thousand people, mostly European countries, sought refuge in other countries as political refugees. Some of those people immigrated to Sweden. This migration wave, which took place due to "September 12", slowed down in the early 1990s. This study examines the process of those who immigrated to Sweden for political reasons in the 1980s, both until they reach the country of Sweden and after they started living in Sweden. This study also examines adaptations of immigrans, language learning proccess of immigrants, preservation of culture by immigrants, perception towards other immigrants and gender. In this study, in which the qualitative research method was used, interviews were conducted in the cities of Uppsala, Bolnes and Göteburg, especially in Stockholm, where people of Turkish origin reside in Sweden. The interviewees are individuals of Kurdish ethnicity. Through the data collected from the field, the reasons underlying the political migration and exiles towards the main problematic were tried to be determined. Along with the immigration of immigrants to Sweden, the changes in their socio-cultural, educational and economic situations, their adaptation to the Swedish country and their synthesis cultures were also examined.
