Özet
Erzurum ili merkez ortaöğretim okullarında görev yapan biyoloji öğretmenlerinin öğretim esnasında karşılaştıkları sorunların saptanması bu çalışmanın amacıdır. En az üç yıl deneyimli toplam 36 biyoloji öğretmenine literatür bilgileri esas alınarak hazırlanmış bir anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre öğretmenlerin üniversite eğitimleri esnasında aldıkları biyoloji eğitiminin teorik olarak yeterli olmasına rağmen, bu okullardaki biyoloji eğitiminin liselerdeki biyoloji derslerinin uygulama çalışmalarını yürütebilecek deneyim kazandırmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. Bulgular, Erzurum merkez okullarındaki laboratuar olanaklarının biyoloji müfredat programının uygulanabilmesi için yetersizliğini ortaya koymakta olup, müfredat programlarına göre hazırlanan lise ders biyoloji kitaplarının öğretmenler tarafından yetersiz bulunduğu gözlenmiştir.Bu çalışmanın bulguları ışığında, daha etkili bir biyoloji öğretimi için üniversitelerdeki biyoloji öğretmenliği bölümlerinde eğitim öğretim programlarının yeniden organize edilmesi ve öğrenci ders kitaplarının yeniden gözden geçirilmesi gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılır.
This study was to examine difficulties of the biology teachers that faced during teaching in the secondary schools of central part of Erzurum province. During this research the questionnaire has been prepared in the light of published papers was administrated to all secondary school biology teachers (totally 36)experienced with biology teaching minimum three years. Findings of the study indicate that the theoretic level of biology education, taken by biology teachers during biology courses in the past seems good enough to teach in secondary schools. However, it has been also claimed that practical part of biology education gained in during biology education was insufficient to perform good practical works in secondary schools biology class/laboratory. On the bases of this study, it is possible to reach a result that science laboratories of secondary schools in central part of Erzurum were insufficient to perform National Curriculum of Biology for a effective biology education. The present research also indicated that the textbooks of students have been designated according to the curriculum found to be insufficient for biology education. As a result, this study draws attention to the necessity of review student textbooks of secondary schools and reorganization of teachers training programs in departments of Biology Education in the universities for more effective biology teaching.
