Özet
Bu çalışmanın amacı, Tartışma Yöntemi ile Desteklenen Öğretimin Elektriğin İletimi ünitesinde 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin kavramlarındaki değişimi ve akademik başarılarına etkisini incelemektir. Bu bağlamda yapılan bu çalışmada karma desen yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın nicel boyutunda ön test - son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen modeli kullanılırken nitel araştırma kısmında ise betimsel analiz tekniğinden faydalanılmıştır. Yapılan bu çalışma 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Hatay ili Kumlu ilçesinde kamuya ait bir ortaokulda yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada uygun örneklem yöntemi göz önünde bulundurularak 35 6. Sınıf öğrencisi üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Deney ve Kontrol grupları rasgele seçilip oluşturulmuştur. Elektriğin İletim ünitesi deney grubunda tartışma yöntemi ile desteklenen öğrenme yöntemleri ile kontrol grubunda ise ders kitabına uygun olarak düz anlatım, soru cevap tekniği uygulanarak anlatılmıştır. Uygulama araştırmacı tarafından 16 ders saatinde tamamlanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak geçerlilik ve güvenirlik çalışması yapılmış "Elektrik İletimi Başarı Testi" (EİBT), "Elektrik İletimi Kelime İlişkilendirme Testi" (EİKİT) her iki gruba uygulama öncesi ve sonrası olmak üzere ön test-son test şeklinde uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizi için SPSS 25 programı kullanılmıştır. Veri analizi yapılırken standart sapma, ortalama, frekens, ancova, bağımlı ve bağımsız t testlerine bakılıp analız yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, tartışma yöntemi ile işlenen dersin öğrencilerin akademik başarıları üzerinde olumlu bir etki yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarında yapılan analizlerde ön testler arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı ancak uygulanan yöntem sonraında uygulanan son testlerde anlamlı farklılık olduğu görülmüştür. Hem deney hem kontrol grubunun ön test ve son testleri karşılaştırılmış her iki grupta da son test lehine anlamlı farklılık görülmüştür. Ayrıca çalışmada deney ve kontrol gruplarına ön test-son test şeklinde kelime ilişkilendirme testi uygulanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde kesme noktası kullanıp kavram ağları oluşturulmuştur. Elde edilen analiz sonuçlarına göre belirlenen dört kavrama yönelik (Elektrik, Direnç, Ampul, İletken Madde ) öğrencilerin yeterli düzeyde bir bilgiye sahip oldukları anlaşılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of the Teaching Supported by Discussion Method on the changes in the concepts and academic achievement of 6th grade students in the Transmission of Electricity Unit. In this context, mixed pattern method was used in this study. Descriptive analysis technique was used in the qualitative research part while experimental design model with pre-test post-test group was used in the quantitative dimension of the study. This study was held in a public secondary school in Kumlu district of Hatay province in 2018-2019 academic year. The study was carried on 35 6th grade students by considering the appropriate sampling method. Experimental and control groups were randomly selected and formed. The Transmission of Electricity unit was explained in the experimental group by using learning methods supported by discussion method and in the control group by using the narration method and question and answer technique in accordance with the textbook. The application was completed by the researcher in 16 course hours. The validity and reliability study was conducted as a data collection tool and both 'Electricity Transmission Success Test' (ETST) and 'Electric Transmission Word Association Test' (ETWAT) were applied to both groups as pre-test and post-test before and after the application. SPSS 25 program was used for data analysis. While performing data analysis, the analyzing was done by looking at standard deviation, mean, frequency, ancova, dependent and independent T tests. As a result, it has been determined that the course which has been lectured with discussion method has appositive effect on the academic achievement of the students. It has been seen in analyzes in the experimental and control groups that there was no significant difference between the pre-tests but there was a considerable difference between the post-tests after the method. Pre-test and post-tests of both groups were compared and it has been appeared that there was a significant different in favor of post-test in both groups. Additionally, in the study, word association test was applied to the experimental and control groups as pre-test and post-test. In the analysis of the data, cut-off point was used and concept networks were formed. According to the results of the analysis, it has been understood that the students have sufficient knowledge about four certain concepts (Electric, Resistance, Ampoule, and Conductive Material).
